After reading Gospel According to St.Mark

I’m a Roman Catholic, but I was baptized just last Easter, so I’ve never read the bible. I’m attending the class of Christian Themes in literature in this semester. For this reason, I’m trying to read the bible. I read the Gospel According to St. Mark till yesterday. It develops following a journey of Jesus Christ. After baptized by St. Joseph in Jordan river (1:1-13), he evangelizes in Galilee (1:14-9:50), goes to Jerusalem (10), and dies at there (11:1-16:8). After the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, the angel prophesies that a party of Jesus Christ will put together in Galilee. (16:7) The Gospel According to St. Mark is focused on public life and sacrifice of Christ unlike other Gospels. From beginning to 13 chapter is an introduction to describe sacrifice, and from 14 chapter to 16 chapter 8 verse, it describes the sacrifice it self. The rest of last chapters are story about the Resurrection as supplements and I think it emphasizes the sacrifice. Then, conjunctions such as and, then, as soon as, so then use pretty often, so I was tense because I feel the most important things appear just next. This Gospel is similar to the Gospel According to Luke and Matthew, but it is more vivid, so it’s easy to understand. I was also touched about gospel preaching. In 16 chapter 15-20 verses, there are some phrases about gospel preaching: And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation.” I didn’t do anything to evangelize on reflection. I’ll not only go to mass, but also try to live as a child of God.
