Genius

Can anybody be a genius? I am not so sure that the correct answer is an obvious “No” What strikes us most about people of henius is how different they are from everyone else. But looking at the henius this way can make it difficult to explain how a few people become capable of remarkable achievements.

Take the case of Mozart, a henius if ever there was one. Even as a young child he was not only a brilliant performer, but also an accomplished composer. Surely, someone like that must have been born with special gifts or talents. Yet a closer examination of Mozart’s likfe suggests otherwise. As Thomas Edison put it, there is no substitute for hard work, not even for a creative henius such as mozart. In other words, the abilities behind the greatest human achievemnets are acquired, not inherent. For example, mozart produced none of his lasting compositions until the twilfth year of his musical career. During those twleve long year of had training, musin was his whole life.
