Do you know a canadian pianist ‘Steve Barakatt’? Maybe many people know him  because he composed very famous music such as ‘The Whistler’s Song’, ‘Flying’, ‘Rainbow Bridge’, and so on.  When I listen to his music, I feel  so good. Especially ‘Flying’ is my favorite music because when I’m so tired of my study, it gives me some strong energy. If you listen to this music, you would feel that you are flying like a bird. Last December, he came to Korea to have a concert, and I went to there.  He is so talented and passionate, and I envied his talent and passion. I really want to live like his music ‘Flying’. After the concert, I got his autograph, and I could see his hansome face. He is from Quebec , so I said,  ’Bonsoir.’ Even though he was so busy, he looked at me and said, ‘Bonsoir.’ That night, I couldn’t sleep well because  I got too excited about that.   In  my dream, I talk with him in French. What an amazing dream! In this September, I want to go to his concert again.

Today morning, around 3′o clock, I woke up because I had a stomachache. I was so sick that I called my parents  and went to the hospital. While I was going to the hospital, I felt that it takes too long to go to there. A doctor said, ” if you get an injection, you’ll be fine,” and he gave an injection. Now I feel better, but I’m dizzy and painful, so I ruined all my weekend. I got lots of plans in this weekend like assignments and final exams. I just want to relax when I’m sick.

Last summer vacation, I had such a great time in Paris for two months! I took a French class in Sorbonne university and traveled Paris, Nice, Munich, Wien, and Salzburg. Among five cities, I really miss Paris. While I was in Paris, I have also some bad memories. For example, at that time, it was so hot that I feel that every water in my body is gone off and I was always thirsty. Most surprising thing was that French people don’t use air conditioner at all! Even this memory makes me miss Paris a lot. Now I really want to go to Paris again. I saw amazing churches, wonderful monuments, beautiful paintings, and I made many foreign friends like Algerians, Americans, Frenches, Canadians, Japaneses, Koreans, and so on. Most interesting one for me was walking all over the city like not only places for tourists but also places for real French people. After 10 years, I’d like to write some books about Paris and Seoul in English and French. It’s one of my dreams and the reason I’m taking this course.

Do you like watching an american sitcom ‘Friends’? I believe many people in the world enjoy watching it. Actually, I’m really into it, so I have watched about 3 episodes every day for two years. Now I have watched it more than 5 times, but it is still so intersting and funny. Now I feel that I’m in New York and they are my friends.  I think this is the best sitcom ever and it is really well made. Every episode has very funny story and every charcater has a charming and maked individuality. I always wonder how  the writers of ‘Friends’ came up every funny story. The best thing I got from this is an improvement of my listening skill and a learning of many expressions. When I take Toeic test, I started gradually to get high score in LC part. When I take Prof. Lee’s class, it’s easier than before to take a course because of idioms and expressions. At the first time, I just started to watch it just for fun and relax, but now I got three birds with one stone.

Recently, a soap opera  Jjuneujunjang(War of Money) is so popular. It is telecasted on Wednesday and Thusrday night. One comic book is adapted for the soap opera, and main topic is private loan. It is composed of very exciting story and nice actors and actrees. It  also shows people how dangerous the private loan is. When I watched it at tie first time, I realized that realistic problems are more scary than ghost. I watched it every Wednesday and Thursday because I just wonder how the story is goint to develop. Whenever I watched it, I dreamed about that and run all the time like the characters in my dream.  I think thie soap opera gives us lots of lessons about money.

I really love eating spicy food such as Buldak (spicy chicken),  Nakjibockuem  (spicy roast of small octopus), and Dduckbokki (spicy fried rice cake). When I eat spicy food, I’m usually pleasant. However, few days ago,  after I ate very spicy chicken, I had a really terrible stomackache. Then, I realized for the first time spicy food put my stomach out of order. I was so sick that I couldn’t study at all that night. Actually, that time, I was so scared. For this reason, I apologized to my stomach and promised that I won’t eat stimulative spicy food at all. Last semester, I wanted to write an essay about Kimchi in Gord’s class. My thesis was ’Kimchi can prevent many diseases such as cancer, birdflu, and SARS’.  However, Prof. Gord said I don’t have any scientific proof, and attacks of stomach cancer of Korean people are the highest in the world. At that time, I argued with him, but now I understand why he said like that.

When I was in Vancouver, I got an amazing friend! She and I met in an ESL class. She is a Japanese and her name is Sayaka. At that time, we couln’t speak english very well, but we could talk about many stuffs, share our feelings, and also improve our english skills thanks to our friendship. Sometimes we taught our native language each other, study english in the library, went shopping, went Korean or Japanere reastaurant, and cook together. The most amazing one in Canada was traveling to the Rocky mountains with her. In the beatiful nature, we took many pictures and make many never-to-be-forgotten memories. We promised to visit our home towns specially at our wedding. Actually, I had a plan to visit Tokyo this long holidays, but I couldn’t get a available ticket. Since last automn, we haven’t kept in touch. Few days ago, I sent her a e-mail. However, that e-mail was returned because her mail box is full, so I decided to call her home. Her mother recieved the phone, but she can’t speak english at all and I guess Sayaka is not there. Her mother said “call tomorrow” in Japanese. I called her again, but I couldn’t contact with her. I really miss her and hear some news, but I couldn’t tell anything about her fulled e-mail box or her cell number or evne my number. I felt so terrible and regretted a lot that I didn’t study Japanese hard.  I hope when I get married, she’ll be there as my best friend.

Did you hear about a circus ‘QUIDAM’ which is the latest show? Yesterday I went to the Jamsil Sports Complex to see it with my grand mother. Since couple of months ago, my grand mother has really wanted to see it, so my mother reserved two tickets for a parents day. I was so excited because it was my first time to see a circus. I imagined an elephant who is through a big hoop or something like a magic. However, ‘QUIDAM’ was totally different from a image that I thought. There are no animals and no magics. It was progressed by just people, so I was so surprised that I couldn’t shut my mouth. It was fantastic, artistic, funny, interesting and amazing! Many talented flexible people performed a wonderful feat with some ropes or a hoop or some balls. In addition, there was a farce in which some of audience participte offhandedly. They acted so hard and gave us laugh. I had a really great time. If you go there, don’t be late because the best one comes out at the biginning of the show!

Did you watch the latest movie ‘Spiderman 3′? I watched it the next day of releasing because one of my friends said ‘It’s so cool! It’s so exciting!’. I didnt’ watch ‘Spiderman 1& 2′, so I believed her. However, I wasn’t intreseted, and I don’t understand why it is so popular nowdays. I guess she and I have quite different tastes of movie, or I was so expected the movie, so I was disappointed a lot.  The beginning of ‘Spiderman 3′ was not too bad. However, after one hour and half passed, I became too bored because of a childish story. It was just about revenge. It was too violent and scary. We could watch that just for fun, but why 3 big screen rooms in the theater is assigned for a Spiderman? Recently, there are no good Korean movies, maybe that’s a big reason of this weird situation. What do you think of this situation? In a Prof. Lee’s class, Mr. Lee  told about Michael Jordan which is the most famous basketball player in the world. Even his team was losing in the game, he has much in reserve and smiled. After that, he tried one more goal, and it makes his team win. Before he became a great player, he practiced 2000 goals in one day while other people are even having a party. Have you ever been crazy about something? Or do you find what you like? Nowdays, it is a kind of hard time for me. I’m a junior, but I don’t find even what I really like, what I’m  very good at, and which job I want to work for. Of course, I have a dream, but sometimes it looks so far from reality and I don’t know I’m good at marketing, sales, services, or announcing. I feel like that I’m in a very long tunnel. I want to find something that I can be crazy about and try so hard like Michael Jordan. If you guys find  your ways, how did you find it?
