My Introduction
Hi! My name is Youngae Kim. I am a late learner and also sophomore. I am majoring in English Language and Culture now and I really like it because I want to learn. I was born and grew up in Seoul. When I was a middle and high school student, I was full of confidence. Thus if I want to do something, I thought I could that it is whatever and I used to be enthusiastical. And especially I had two dreams at that time. One was being a judge as a woman and the other was traveling all of the world. As you know, traveling the world was so difficult before because traveling the world was restricted by government strictly. However I wanted to get my wish as soon as possible at that time. Anyway I didn’t succeed my first dream, but I am a university student right now and I think I am getting my first dream as a different way. And I am succeeding my second dream, I’ve already traveled 50 countries from South America to Africa, and I also have some plans to travel the other countries. However when I traveled many countries, I felt I really need to learn English. For example, when I traveled in Mexico, I had a chance to go to a celebrate party and I met many friends who came different countries. Even though it was a good chance to make friends, I didn’t do it because I couldn’t speak English well at that time. That’s why I’ve taken this major. However as I grow older, I am losing my confidence and I feel getting smaller and smaller these days. To my shame, I sometimes envy your youth. But I think I am a lucky student because I can meet you and be your friend. Of course I’d learned with Prof. Gord last semester and it makes me improving my writing skills and that’s why I take again this course. And I really appreciate him. In truly, I am very happy. And I believe that if I work hard, I would decrease the fear of English and achieve my goal someday.
