This classblog exists so that students will have a chance to work on, and share, weekly writing projects with other students. The point of this blog is not volume. You don’t need to write a lot, though you shouldn’t just write two lines and quit every week. Rather, the point is to try to write something interesting and worthwhile to share with other students.
Other students comments are an invaluable resource. You should make an effort not simply to comment on content, but also on how something is written. For example, grammar, word-choice, spelling, punctuation, and structural problems (no topic sentence, or badly-organized paragraphs) are all worth commenting about.
You should make an effort to always say something nice, as well as something critical, in every comment. For example:
That’s funny! I think this paragraph is well-organized. I can see a topic sentence, and everything else in the paragraph is related to it.
However, I think you should review your spelling. You spelled at least five words incorrectly!
Also, you should try to write two paragraphs next time! And keep writing! It’s funny and enjoyable to read your posts!
Encouragement and criticism should always go hand in hand.
