Animals in zoo
When I was a highschool student, I watched a documentary film about animals in zoo. At that time, I thought animals in zoo were very happy because they were guaranteed safe life. I really did, but the documentary was horrible, especially one scene.A otter in zoo got sick, and then it was dead. The veterinarians in zoo couldn’t know why the otter was dead, so they decided to do an autopsy. When they cut the otter’s abdomen, I could see a lot of coin. People who visited the zoo threw coin to the otter.
People who threw coin didn’t think that their trivial behavior affected the otter. It might be only meant in fun, but anyway, the otter was dead, and it must not be trivial.
Protecting animals is people’s duty. We must not think animals are our toy. They are living things like us.
