Last september, there was a controversy about a woman abasement statement from the one of this year’s candidates of president. Myung-park Lee who is one of powerful candidates said “Ugly women can massage well because they don’t have much customers like pretty girls so that they have lots of energy.” It became known to public repidly and organizations for woman insisted that he must apologize about that. After 3~4  denials and excuses, he finally admitted.

After this event, I questioned about his qualification as a candidate of president for two reasons.

At first, he exposed his attitude toward woman issue which is nagative too carelessly. A matter of Woman discrimiantion is very complicated and difficult to solve because it has been settled in our society so solidly that many people can’t capture moments of woman discrimination in their life. So in woman movement is’t really important to be sensitive about our natural thoughts and acts. However it seems he didn’t know or care about that point. I don’t think that he should be a expert of woman movement, but he should know this basic point as a candidate of president. Who is a president? It’s the one who should be able to take care about everything.

Secondly he didn’t consider about the influence of his word. Even though he’s not a president yet, still he has powerful influence in this society not only as a candidate but as one of famous politicians in Korea. How can we trust him that he will not act like that after he became a president? Who knows? One blue day, he might say “shit, I want to make nuclear weapon!”

As a result, he stated about woman abasement statement in public forgeting about his status, power and influence. It can’t be a trivial event. He should take responsibility about that in any way aside from apology and citizens should reexamine his qualification as a candidate of president.

Oh! Is there a great lover or supporter of him to give this harsh punishment? Then, please just ask him. ”Who do you think you are?”
