I met old learner last year in this university.
Do you know Hyun Duk-chan? He is second grade this year and major in Business Administration Department in this university. He is 57 years old now!
He determined enter the catholic university because he didn’t study of university before and he felt necessity of systematic study during his work. Last year, he told me that sometimes he heard to other people, “why you are study in old?â€� However, He told me his think that it would rather do than didn’t.
At that time, I really impressed because of him. Although he was old, he had a passion for life as much as young students had and more. Nowadays, my life pattern is wrong. I often delay my work. Absolutely, I have to effort more than now.
studying in old age is more difficult than studying in twenties. when I was a high school my mother entered university again. She majored computer engineering at Korea National Open University. She studied very hard and the last semester she got a scholarship. However, I have studied 7semeters inuniversity but I haven’t got a scholarship yet. I should study harder..;;;
I know many old learner who study in a university.
When I took a vacation class, there were 3 old leaners in English conversation class. All of them always asked something they didn’t understand to me, I was really impressed. They were never late or absent.
Even though they don’t speak in English well, they always tried to participate in a every activity.
Old students were entusiastic and eager in studies. “there is no royal road to learning” this saying encourages me learning, and I found out value of learning.
It would have been hard choice for him.
In Korea, entering university after high school is kind of necessary.
