German Family
I take a class about ‘Human and Family Life’ in this semester. Last week, I studied about German Family. Geman have really different family realtionship and idea with ours, and it was so impressive to me. German parents don’t think their children as possession, and they teach their children support themselves become eighteen or nineteen. However, Korean parents are still commanding their children telling ‘it’s for you.’ Not only parents and children relationship but also funeral rites is different. German think death in house is not good because they have to prove it wasn’t murder. Therefore, old people go to hospital for peaceful death without family. In German, nurses care the old instead of their offsprings. I saw an article about this funeral rites in German wrote by Korean journalist. He criticized that culture, but I think that attitude is not appropriate on this situation because it is handed down culture, and even I envy the resolution of German. Compassion of Korean is good, but why don’y we set folks free from durable restrain?
