I’ve been reading the book called LIFE’S GREATEST LESSONS. The wirter, Hal Urban was a high school teacher for many years and also taught at the University of San francisco. When he taught at the University, he realized something about life and he wrote the book about it. I enjoy reading the book and I think this is a wise and wonderful book.
There are many lessons in this book such as the importance of habits and character. he says habits are the key to all success. Some psycologists believe that up to ninety five percent of our behavior is formed through habit. People might think habits are difficult to be changed, but like attitudes, habits can be changed. I am not saying changing bad habits is easy, but I believe the only thing that matters is desire. There is an old expression -you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. As I said, habits must be strong. For example,One of the common habits must be swearing. People can say they are just words, but I think the words they used revealed somthing about themselves. It must be hard for some people to stop swearing but If you want to change your old habit like swearing you can do with the need and the desire. I’ve seen many people doing it and I am trying to change my bad habits like being lazy.
I believe good habits make the difference in everything we do.
Old habits die hard, but one thing we should know is it says that ‘die hard’ not ‘ never die!’ I am struggling to convert me as a whole new person in terms of my bad behaviours based on my habits.
