There are many reasons why people drink. One think is peer pressure, which can be very powerful motivation. Korean thinks friendship is really important. So it’s difficult to refuge friends asking. Korean emotion affect people who are forced to drink. And at this point alcohol can make people close. If people want to get close each other, it’s very common thing to drink together. The other thing is that people tend to reduce their depression by drinking. Anyone can have a hard time, during the whole lives. At that time, people drink to get out of depression. By drinking, people can temporary make himself or herself feel up. Last thing is to celebrate. Alcohol works on turning people’s mind upbeat. So people drink alcohol happily when the party is held.

I really think drinking leads people to be relaxed, so I used to meet people at a pub if I needed to be close. I thought it was easier than being in an awkward situation.
I can’t drink alcohol but sometimes I really would like to drink
alcohol for mood. I think we can need to drink a little alcohol
for close friendship. However, if we drink a lot of alcohol to
remove depression, it can make deep serious.
