It is very sunny today. The sun is very bright, and everything looks so lively. I love this kind of weather, because on a day like this, I feel very happy and cheerful. Otherwise, on a rainny or cloudy day I feel very sad and gloomy. Weather controls my attitude towards my life. I know it sounds funny, but it really does. I get very positive and hopeful toward myself and my life when it is sunny, and vice versa. I just can’t help being so controled by the weather. Anyway, I feel so happy today.
Have you ever heard of Atopy? It is a kind of hereditary dermatitis that makes your skin itchying. It hasn’t been know very much, but it is becoming a matter of concern these days. The first reason is because Atopy is not a fatal disease such as cancer, SARS, or AIDS, there has been not enough medication developed. Second, the patients of Atopy has difficulty in socializing, because its symtom appears on the their skin externally. Third, because it is a hereditary dermatitis, it is not enough to cure just one person. Instead, we need a medication that would cure the disease fundamentally.
Becoming aware that we should have posted 22 to 33 paragraphs so far, I counted all of my paragraphs. The mumber of my paragraohs was just about minimum, but it wasn’t what I care. I just realized that we have just couple weeks left in this semester! Can you believe that? Everything has just started to feel familiar, but actually it’s about done! I can not believe it. I don’t know what I’ve done so far. I have been busy with all assignments and exams. That’s all. I kind of feel frustrated.
Because animals such as lions, tigers, snakes, and bears are dangerous if they escape, people never have these animals at home as their pets. Also because animals like foxs, lions, tigers, and bears may attack people, they hardly have these animals, either. Instead, people have animals such as dogs, cats as their pets, and also cows as their livestock. Becaeuse dogs, cats, and cows breed quickly, people who have them can have babies of them very often. People can sell the baby animals, and they become rich. When they become rich, people can usually wear diamonds as shiny jewelry, because they have a lot of money. However, they have to be careful not to be sick, because animals can spread viruses like HIV, SARS, and Avian Influenza easily.
After battling with my homework, I felt very much satisfied with myself. Wondering what I should do for myself as a reward, I chose to go to grocery shopping with my roommates. Because I just love to go to grocery shopping, it would be a great reward. My roommates were also happy to hear me asking to go with them, we all set off with a huge excitement. There wasn’t really anything that I need to get, but it would be still good to just see what is new, and what I would buy later. After looking around in Home Plus several times, my roommate bought a box of ramen, and some snacks. I got two ramens, two package of ham, grapefruit juice, and potato chip. I spent 8,900 won, which wasn’t that bad. I feel really really good tonight.
I love poems. It is not that I know much about poems or can write good poems, but it’s just I like reading them aloud or listening to others reading them. I also like to think about the theme of a poem, and just have some time to feel and enjoy it. When it comes to English poem, I like them better than Korean poems. Because, I think English poems have more beautiful and strict rhythm and rhymes. Even more, I love translating them into Korean. When I wonder about what I am going to do with the rest of my life, I just want to be a poem translator. But people hardly read poems anymore. They don’t even read Korean poem unless the poet is very popular or the poem is very sensational. I just don’t know. What should I do with my life? I feel my life of this age is too fragile.
When I was 6 years old, I had a chance to visit the Disney Land. I was quite young to remember many things, but I do remember that I saw a mannequin that was made look just like Abraham Lincoln. Of course I didn’t know who he was and did not understand English either, but I remember the mannequin was acting like he was giving some kind of speech, and everybody was listening carefully to it. Now I assume that the experience I had show how much Americans value Abraham Lincoln.
Abraham Lincoln was a very religious man. For example, when his mother died, she asked him to read Bible a lot, instead of trying to be rich. And he often used quotations from Bible in his speech. He also praied a lot even in a extreme situation like war. In addition, he was a person who taught himself. For instance, when he was 25 years old, he studied by himself and become a lawyer. When he was young, he traveled quite far to borrow a book he wanted to read. His parents are poorly educated and were short of money, but he was very brilliant and made himself not just stay where he was born. He was very honest. For example, he was called ‘honest Ave.’ When he became bankrupt, he could run away to other state, but he didn’t. Instead, he worked very hard, and paid back all of his debt.
I chose Helen Keller for this assignment, because when I was young, I had a little book about her and I liked it very much, and I spent a lot of time reading it.
Helen Keller was a woman who was blinded, deaf, and mute because of a disease she suffered when she was a baby. Because of her difficult situation, she had a lot of hardships through her life. For example, she always had to read braille points to read books and use her hands as eyes to figure out things around her. She even had to touch her teacher’s tongue to learn how to speak. Moreover, she had to feel the audiences’ big hands when she finished her speech, with the vibration of the room she was in. Even so, she was a woman who was very brave. For instance, she did not ever give up learning in spite of her physical disabilities. She even went to Hardvard University which was a hard school also for usual students, and she got her degree. She also wrote many books and gave speeches before many people. In addition, she devoted her life helping poor people. For example, when she heard about a boy named Tommy and that he was in a similar physical situation with her, she sent all of her pocket money to help him. She even persuaded people to do so, so Tommy could go to school. She frequently visited shelters for poor people, and she tried to let them see hopes in their lives.
This weekend has been very long, and it felt so good to take a long rest. Taking a good rest would never be long enough, but it still was so wonderful. I went home and enjoying not sharing my room with three roomates in a small dorm room! And I kept eating a lot of home made food which is the best ones I have ever tasted. I talked with my parents a lot and told them how my life in school was, and what happened in detail. I also had much fun with my sister, Soojin and her boy friend. And I also begged of my mom to buy me a lot of stuff I need and she did so which made me feel kind of quilty as well as satisfied. Anyway I feel really really good to have a long weekend in the middle of stressful semester!
My parter is very tall. Even though she was sitting on a chair, I could tell she’s tall because she’s got long legs. Her eyes are big, and are double lids, unlike many Asisan people. Her nose is also big, but not that huge so it just looks good with her big eyes. She was wearing long and dangling earings. The earings have one pink ball each, and also other ornamental pieces with the ball. She was wearing a blue stripe shirt with beige colored pants. And her jacket was beige colored, and the sleeve were folded two or maybe three times. Her shoes were also beige colored, so I guessed that she likes that color. And the expression on her face was not so frienly, but it certainly was not an offensive one. Can you guess who she is?
I went to this place last weekend. The place was a big and rectangular room, decorated with many flowers. The flowers were mostly white or light pink. On the floor of the room, there was a big and a broad carpet in the center of the room. The carpet was red, and it was a little bit wrinkled because people were stepping on it. There were many people from many places, and they all dressed up nice. Most ladies were wearing skirt, but none of them was wearing in white except one person. The person was wearing in white dress with a bouquet in her hand. And with the other hand, she was holding soon-to-be her husband’s hand. Yes, I went to a wedding ceremony.
When you live in a dormitory room, it it you job to wash your clothes. To me, it was annoying and hard at first, but now it is a very simple task. First, sort your clothes into two class. One might be a class of your underwear, towels, or maybe pajamas. And the other might be a class of jeans and some other garments. Second put one group of clothes into the washing machine. When you do this, you have to be careful because if you just pile them, your clothes can get tangled altogether in the machine. Third put detergent. It can either be liquid one or powdery one. Put your coin that you brought ( it costs 5 hundred one!) Then Push the swith and make sure you remember the exact time you push the switch. Then after about 40 minutes, pull out all your clothes and put them into the drier. Next, put another coin into the drier. Finally, after 1 hour, your laundry is all done!!
To make fried rice, you need some cooked rice, an onion, a carrot, a green pepper. You can also add some Kimchi, a chunk of ham, or some shrimp if you want.
Try making fried rice by yourself. It will be much fun and I’m sure you will like it. First, you need to wash some vegatables that you need. They are onion, a carrot, and a green pepper. Second, chop the vegetable into the little pieces. You are also need to chop some other ingredients that you want to add. It can be some ham, some kimchi, or shrimp. It will make your fried rice taste better. Third, heat the pan. Then oil the pan. Next, put the chopped vegetable and fry them. You might need to put some other ingredients before the vegetable. Then put cooked rice into the pan. Finally, fry the vegetable, other ingredients, and cooked rice altogether. Now you are done, and go eat!
When I was young, I was quite a warm and kind kid. I was just sweet just like any other girls of that age. Everything was so hopeful, promising, and beautiful. But as I am getting older, I feel that I am being very picky, irratable with everything. It’s just not right. People are supposed to be more generous and patient as they get older. But look at me! I am just harsh on everyone around me and always angry at something. Even my best friend pointed it out that what I most frequently say is “Oh, I hate this, and I hate that.” I don’t know what’s wrong with me but I am just like it. I wish I can get it right.
Since I am a junior this year, I have a lot more things to do. Tons of assignments are just killing me. The fact that I like my major and all the things about English and literature is one thing, and those bunch of assignments and homework is the other. I am spending all my weekend in the library doing my homework. I really really want to go out and have some fun with my friends, watch movies and go shopping. But those fun time is just too far beyond my life now. How sad. I just want to be a freshman again.
It is usually thought that rice is a dish which people have during their meal, but in fact, rice can be a grest and various snack. Since is rice is the main food of Korea, Koreans have developed a variety of ways enjoying rice. Rice cake, which is called Ttok, is one of them. Actually, their are many kinds of rice cake. It is course made from rice, by grinding it and then steaming it. It does taste good and also is very good for your health. In addition, rice can be made as a kind of drink. Korean people traditionally have made alcoholic beverage with rice by fermenting it carefully. Moreover, rice punch is also a kind of beverage everyone can enjoy its taste and ingredients.
Rice is not only a food we simply eat, but also a symbol of effort that farmers make throughout a whole year. Farmers grow rice as if they foster their children. They take a good care of the rice everyday with their genuine heart. They try their best to keep the rice from the harmful insects which might ruin it, drought or flood which might do the serious harm or even kill the whole rice. Therefore rice shouldn’t be thought as just product from a simple labor, but a precious outcome of the farmers’ every effort and time.
Sometimes I worry about my future and wonder what I am going to do after I graduate. Actually, I want to be an interpreter but I am not sure if I have the right talents and traits to become a good interpreter. I am so shy and not really good at speak loud in front of many people. The more I become to think it will be hard for me, the more passion I feel inside myself. I like learning English. I think it sounds beautiful and have a lot more sophisticated meanings than Korean do. I just feel happy and interesting when I am learning or studying English. I believe that the passion and love for English I have is enough, but I think I should have more confidence and faith in my dream.

I live in the dormitory in campus. Living in a dorm room is not so uncomfotrable, actually it’s pretty comfortable to live there. Anyway, I came home this weekend to just relax myself and take some rest. I made a list of the food I would want to eat, but as soon as I arrived home, all I did is just sleeping. I slept whole morning and then I had lunch and I slept again. How come is it possible? I usually don’t sleep much but coming home, all I really want is just to sleep! Well. I guess I was too tired during weekdays but didn’t even noticed it.
The midterm exam season is coming already. A lot of people are showing up in the library and stay there studying until the mid night. I also have started to prepare for the exams. It is a little bit boring and tiresome to be stuck in the library all day long. However it is rather worthwhile to concentrate on my studies, get to know more about my major subject and understand it. Actually it is also good that I don’t have to dress up every morning. I am happy that I enjoy this season, otherwise it would be much harder to bear.
Since it is really cold and windy out side, I am stuck in my dorm room and nibble on some gummy bears. It is my favorite sweets. Actually I am not sure I can call gummy bears “sweets.” Anyway it really is chewy but yummy. My favorite color is red because it smells so good and tastes good, too. I also like to make a line of them like red one, orange one, yellow, green, and so on. When you see thier little faces, hands and stuff, sometimes it’s kind of hard to “eat” the cute little bears. But when I hold them in my hand, I can’t just help eating them. Even while I’ve been writing this, I might have eaten thirty of them. I love gummy bears.
Living in a dormintory room can be a precious experience that gives you a lot of fun and enjoyment. When you live in a dorm room, you get to meet various room mates. The people you hang out with are the ones that you chose to be friends with, but the room mates are not. So, you get to learn how to get along with the people who are a lot different from you and whose personalities are not really familiar to you. This is what makes you grow up, and helps you to be friendly to people. In addition, when you have good relationships with your room mates, it would be awesome to spentd time with them in the same space, always. Moreover, you can save your time and money you spend to commute to school everyday. You can even get up just an hour before your class begins, and you would never be late. And the money you spend for the subway or bus, you don’t need it. You can just walk to the class.
Irresponsible drinking of alcohol can cause a lot of problems related to health, money, and even your whole life. Among the negative aspects of drinking, the slightest one is hangover. Hangover is the headache and sick feeling that you have the day after drinking too much alcohol, which bothers your usual everyday life. More severe result from hard drinking are the disease of the organs, especially the liver, and also mental disorder. Usually, liver diseases are hard to be recognized, therefore, it often grows worse without noticing. It can lead to the liver cancer, and if unlucky, even to the daeth. In addition, drinking alcohol may have bad influences on your mentality, when you become addicted to drinking. Moreover, if you drive a car while drunken, you can be involved in serious car accident causing a lot of problems such as severe injury, and even death. Another negative aspect of drinking too much alcohol is that you might spend enormous amount of money considering the bad side of it. So far we have taken close look at the negative aspects of drinking alcohol irresponsibly. Too much of any thing is always not really good. It is the same with drinking. We should not drink too much alcohol irresponsibly and control ourselves.
I am having a very busy day today. I have a bunch of homework to do, texbooks to read, and I also need to go to a grocery store to feed myself. I thought I could have finished all my assignments during this weekend but I haven’t, even a half of them.
Well, the new semester seem to just started but it is already heading to the middle of it. I hate busy day and I hate myself being lazy.
Earlier this afternoon, I was spending time using the Internet. I was just checking my Emails, when one of my old friends talked to me on MSN. She and I used to go to high school together, but after I went to differnt school we just stop talking to each other. There was no fight or anything, but it just felt so awkward to talk to each other.
Anyway, we just said hi and asked each other how we have been doing lately. I said I go to college which is not so fun. And then she said, “I’m being a mom.” How amazing!!!(also a bit embarrasing though) She said her son is just 3 months old and she’s getting married in this coming April. I just didn’t know what to say. I just can believe my friend is a mother of a baby, who is going to marry soon. So i just said congratulation, and talked about other kids that we used to hang out together.
It is always so good to talk to an old friend after a long time but I hoped that I could have kept in touch with many of old friends. I wish her luck and her son’s too.
