A Corporal Punishment Should be baned at home. (assignment)

In the 1950s’ America experienced a huge change in education system. The baby boomers became parents and they start to raise their children with no corporal punishment. However, nowadays teenagers in America don’t seem to respect their parents and hard to find family companionship. It is because they value individual benefit the most. In the contrary, ‘Respect’ is traditionally valued as national value in Korea. Like this every country has different value and it is hard to say which is better. For this reason, some people think we should accept corporal punishment because Korean traditionally accepts it to teach their children at home. Korean has valued home education very much, so corporal punishment is used as one of method to correct their children.

However, there is one thing we have to consider people worry about. When parents punish their children, it’s difficult for them to punish excluding their emotion. If they find out their children have done something wrong, they suddenly get angry. Then parents spank the children first instead of telling why they should inflict punishment. This might hurt the children’s emotion and also their bad habits will not be fixed.

It is true parents can correct them if children do something wrong. However corporal punishment is not good because it is child abuse and violence. Children are too young to explain their opinion. A traditional value, respect also bothers them. When they get punishment they must submit it automatically. In addition parents can be getting and getting emotional feeling when they inflict it. If child do not accept their parents’ conversation, we should find out other way to correct them instead of hitting.
