I’m going to tell you about contemporary history of my country.The restoration of independence in August the 15th to korea happened in 1945. Korea got out of Japan’s rule and finally won their independence. It happened unexpectedly. The end of world war 2, the United States dropped nuclear bomb to japan’s territory. Along with japan’s surrender, korea became independent. After very short time of joy, the Soviet Union politically intervene in north part of Korea and the United States took the south part.The division of korea by two happened shortly the independence. Today the restoration of independence in August the 15th officially became national holiday and be called “Gwang-Bok”.

The Gwangbokjul is included sad history. As soon as our country became independent from Japan, there were torn by the Korean War between South and North. So Korea is unfortunately in existence the only one country that it has still divided two parts of the world. I hope the terrible war never happen again.
“Gwang Bok” was a historic event in Korea. However, the case South and North Korea have divided is a tagic event.
I learned it in history class. I didn’t know your country has that history!
