Obsessive compulsive disorder – OCD
Obsessive compulsive disorder means behaving obsessively about certain things. For example, one might wash hands until one is exhausted. And, someone could constantly check to see if door is closed. Or, one might check continually if gas valve is closed. The patients know that these behaviors are not right, but they cannot stop doing this and keep going. Well known reason of this is low level of brain chemical, serotonin which is associated with anxiety and depression. So medicine therapy is needed using serotonin. And, also behaving therapy is needed. One study shows that falling in love is related to OCD. Students who recently fell in love shows low level of serotonin compared with other peer. But, after a year later, the couple’s serotonin level became normal. It shows love have chemical power in body. So it’s maybe right that love is sometimes painful. Love can make people obsessive.
