Elementary Composition – Night

Australia is going to play their first 2006 World Soccer Cup match against Japan tonight. I personally hope that Australia win because I like Guus Hiddink who was our our wonderful coach in 2002 Worldcup. Second,Japan is kind of our rival. We have not good feeling about Japan for historical reasons. Third, we think we have to never lose aganist Japan  about Korea-Japan match in any sport. And  it’s okay that Korea team lose against other country, but we can’t tolerate losing against Japan team. So we don’t want to see Japan team win for important first match.

I  have one  younger brother. He is in military service now. After 7 days he finally  have his first vacation from military,and he can stay home for 10 days. Wow It is really happy event for our family.We all have missed him,and Especially my mother has really missed him since he joined the military.We once visited him about two month ago, that time his his skin became really dark, and he was promoted discipline. I felt sorry for him, but he is recruit, and I believe as time goes by he will adapt to the new culture. I belive he have really important experience for korea men for his duty,and he can become brave, diligent  and responsible person.

Which person do you like a really handsome or pretty but grouchy person or a ugly but considerate person for your boyfriend or girlfriend? It must be hard to choose one,because both of them are important. What kind of things do you consider most when you’re looking for your lover? You may think that a smooth personality is the most important thing, or friendly personality is the most important thing. Some women don’t like younger men than herselves, and some men don’t like older women than himselves at least in korea. In my case absoutely I also feel attractive to a hansome guy, but it’s only a short time. And a sense of humor is most important thing to me. If  he ishansome,patient,polite, but his joke is lame, I don’t feel attractive to him. And I like a man of humor no matter how he is ulgy ,wrinkled and freckled. But exceptedly I consider age, and I don’t like much more younger or older person than me.I know that I tend to overrate a sense of humor, and I know that smooth, polite,considerate and patient things are important,but I don’t like a dull conversation.

2006 Germany Worldcup finally yesterday kicked off. After three days later from now, we will have first match against Togo. For Korea team to have any chance to making the final 16, we have to win. If we draw or lose, we’re placed at the edge of a cliff. So we must win against the easise team Togo. Who will score team Korea’s 1st goal? Park,Ji-sung, the first premier leager ever to come out of Korea, Park,Ju-young, rookie of Korea team or Ahn Jung-hwan,team’s central attacker? I personally hope that Park,Ju-young score goal,because he is a rising sun and hope in future of Korea soccor. I hope Korea team win so all Korean is happy.

I saw a movie ’Good will Hunting’ in one of my classes, Understanding English Language through Films. Matthew Paige Damon is a major character in the movie. I saw this movie before when I was about 17years. Afer 7 years I felt a bit different from that. I felt more something than that time. I impressed especially one line. Will hesitated to call her who he liked to date with because he was afraid of realizing she’s not that smart,that she is boring.He said she was perfect right now. He didn’t want to ruin that. His teacher said to him that maybe he’s perfect right now,and maybe he doesn’t want to ruin that. He added that that way, he can go tharough his entire life without ever having to really know anybody.Maybe  I have ever done that like Will. I was afraid that someone think that I’m not that beautiful and not that attractive. Now I decided to feel free to meet someone. 

It’s hot. I had little appetite these days, and I didn’t like hot food like soup and rice. These days my favorite food is naeng-myun, Ice cream and cucumber kimchi. When I eat for lunch in school I almost always eat naeg-myun. I also enjoy eating ice cream, and today I ate four ice creams. Ice cream is really  cold so I feel cool. Finally, cucumber kimchi is really wonderful side dish. This whets my appetite. It’s really cool and delicious. I don’t like cucumber kimchi when I was a child, but now I crazy about it.

I take a History of Modern Philosophy this semester. My professor is Kim, Jae-ho. I really respect him. He is really smart. Modern philosophy is a not easy class. Thanks to him, I can understand Descartes,Hum,Kant, and other philosophers. His explanation was really good so he made me interesting to this class. Maybe I couldn’t know modern philosophy well and be interested like this without him. I really got a lot out of the class. I also like and respect his personality. He is really generous to his students. And I also have really good teachers in other classes. I think I’m really lucky because I have wonderful teachers.

Do you have any plans for the vacation? I have a plan.First of all, I’m hoping to spend a couple days in the beach with friends. We’re going to play in banana boat, and one friend suggested bungee jumping. But I wouldn’t do that because I don’t have guts. Second, I will enroll some sports courses like ping-pong, jazz dance or yoga.I can have a lot more free time for vacation so I can work out. Finally, I will read English novels, newspaper and magazines. I really study English hard. I hope my English ability would be improved. This coming vacation is my last one so it is really precious to me. I don’t want to waste my precious time.

Are you for, or against euthanasia? In my oppinion euthanasia should be allowed . Some people says that any killing is not right. But if someone is beyond help euthanasia should be allowed, for example a person being kept alive by using machines.we of course do everything possible to keep someone alive. I agree with that, but I also think that it’s a bit impractical  to keep someone alive when they can’t even function,and it can also be huge drain on the family financially.

Do you know TV program ‘Project Runway2’? It’s kind of reality program, and It’s one of the my favorite programs. It’s very interesting. Sixteen designers compete each other for the runway where their dreams will come true. The designers make new dress and the one who graded the lowest by judges will be out a week. I enjoy watching similar kinds of TV program like that because I like their challenge to make their dream come true. Now,for me it’s time to head out into the real world, and I have to start thinking about a career. I have to work really hard, and I also wnt to make my dream come true like them in reality show.

A few days ago, I happen to come by the neighborhood that I lived when I was child.Nothing has changed there so I feel like just that I arrived in a time machine .I lived for 7years, and went to a elementary school there. So I have so many memories there.I remembered the days of childhood when I looked around the apartment that I lived, the playground that I almost always went to, the elementary school, and my friends’ houses. I just had many memories,and I could find  happy memories all over the place. Thinking about my childhood, I’m always happy, and miss it.

I take a class named ‘The Acquisition of Second Language’. I learnd many theories of SLA. There are Behaviorism, Cognitivism and Constructivism. And recently I learned “Affective filter”. This is a imaginary barrier of SLA. For example, If learners have high self-cofidence, motivation,they could learn language successfully. BUt It they have high anxiety and self-conscious, they could not acquire language successfully.Because their affective filter up when they are anxiety,and inputs that they have could be not passed. I know I have strong affective fillter. It will be tough to overcome, but I should try.

There are local elections on coming Wednesday. But I don’t know well about the candidates except mayoral candidates.Fortunately I saw symposium among mayoral cadidates on TV several times.But I even can’t tell who’s a gubernatorial candidate.I am wondering  if I will make a good decision. First,there are just too many candidates. It may be 6 to 7. Second, I only know their name, face and simple career. I’m not sure it’s enough to make a decision.Finally,the candidates’ policy promises are indistinguishable. But I will try to cast a ballot.

Do you know Triangle step dance? You maybe know this dance. This dance is started by popular actor Kim, Su-Ro. People line up in shape of triangle with a leader at the point. And all the people in the triangle follow every move the leader makes.People saw that funny dance, and It spreads widely for cheering for our win in 2006Worldcup. It really cheers up people and makes laugh, isn’t it? We can enjoy 2006Worldcup with this exciting dance.

She is 168 centimeter  tall. She is slim. Her  face is oval-shaped and light-skinned. She has a shapely nose,a broad forehead, and straight teeth. She has a slightly big mouth so she looks like Julie Fiona Roberts when she smiles.She has double eyelids, and her eyes are bright. She has straight black hair and wears her hair down. And She doesn’t  wear glasses.

Bullfrogs have become a problem in our ecosystem for serveral reasones. First, they eat everything. They eat not only insect but also spawn,fish,and even snake. Second, bullfrogs are very fertile. So essential animals to maintain ecological pyramid has disappearded rapidly. Finally, there is no a natural enemy of the bullfrog in korea. Because they are from Chaina. Nothing can kill the bullfrog in our nature. So we must kill bullfrogs by our hands.

There was a school festival on last wednesday. At first, I was really happy to know that I would be day off on wednesday, and I didn’t have to go to school. But My professor Sellar said that we would have a class on wednesday. So I had to go to school. After finishing my class, my classmate Myung-ju and I dropped by that concert.There were band Slihum, band Sacrid, hip-hop  and dance performances. I was really surprised. I couldn’t belive all of these performers are amateurs. All their performances are perfect. The performers sang songs and danced enthusiastically.I had a really good time in a while. As a result, It was lucky that I went to school  for my only one class.

 I was tired of my daily routines. So I decided to go to jungle for adventure because my favorite animation was the Jungle Book in my childhood. I expected definitely I could feel alive there. I think what I have to do before departure is only immunization against Malaria Because Malaria spreads easily there. My friend said to me that tiger attacks people there so you might be in dager. But my mind wasn’t changed, and said that I would be okay.I went to the jungle by my ship. As soon as I got there I looked for something to eat. I found one fruit. It looked like Melon, but tasted not good. I met some aborigines, and to my surprise they’re wearing diamond. Finding me they threatened me. I was really scared. I had even a thin pole. I took out a cigarette lighter senselessly. When they just rushed in me, I lighted it up. Then suddenly they really was surprised. They kneeled to me and gave me their diamond. So I gave my cigarette lighter to them. I left there and went to another, on my way I found something wounded.I looked it more closely.It was a lion,but It is a baby. I cured its wound. I decided to go back home. I brought the diamond which they give me to my country,and now I am a millionaire.

Korean coach Dick Advocat named a final squad for next month’s World Cup in Germany.It’s too bad that Cha,Doo-Ri was dropped. He plays for the Bundesliga,and her father also played for the Bundesliga and is now very famous coach and sports caster.The majority of Koreans expect that our team would show nice games because our team has improved. For exampl, our team we have some players who play in Europe and experienced big match last 2002 korea and Japan Word Cup. I hope that we all enjoy this upcoming international festival. 

Joo Hyung’s mother is stingy. She does not want to pay an electrical charge. For example,she turns off a light when she watch TV at night. She rarely buy clothes. She does not want to buy a new clothes. For example, she often wears her husband’s clothes instead. She also does not want to spend money making up her face beautifully.For instance, she only put cosmetic sample on her face. In conclusion, I think she is a little stingy.

I went to my cousin’s wedding. It was a lovely ceremony. There I met cousins who I was really intimat with when I was young. We haven’t seen for a long time. We ate, drank and talked. We have the same happy memories about childhood. Because we really used to hang out. We always met and play on the school holidays. I and my sister really got on with them like real sibling. We all spended happy time reminiscing about our childhood.

These days you can easily find this place. We can see big and yellow letter “M” before you go into this place. After you enter this place, you can find many plastic tables and chairs. It usually consists of one table and four chairs. One side is a counter. There are usually three cashier  for customer’s convenience. Behind them and over their head there is the plastic and big menu which all people can see together. You can order various hamburgers, french fry and nugget and so on.  One side of this place consists of play room for children. There are big slide, castle and many colorful balls and so on.You should bring your food in your table and clean your table. The trash basket is placed in the middle of the place.So you can put  tissue, paper cups and packing papers and so on in it. And you should put the tray on that.  This place is very clean and comfortable.

 I like to watch baseball game. I used to watch KIA Tigers’ games on a cable TV.But I’ve not whatched baseball games since April 4. Why April 4?  Because a local cable TV  changed the cable  channel  price system. In order to watch sports channels, I ( actually my father) have to pay maybe 7000 won more. At first when I tried to whatch the sports channel,I couldn’t find that channels. I didn’t know that change. Because this local cable TV distributor didn’t notice this change. They said only that channels is changing. I got angry, and thought it’s unreasonable. In a few days later, I saw this unfair thing on TV news. I hope that consumer involved in this estortion would be protected from monopoly as soon as possible. 

Now It’s May. But weather is still a quite cold, and It’s not good to go picnic. But I know that it will be soon a bright spring day.  I like summer rather than winter. Because when it’s cold, my face turn badly red, I’m weak the cold rather than the heat.So I like spring,summer and fall except winter. Sometimes  I think I would like to live worm countries like Singapore,Thailand,especially winter.. I’m going to go mountains and picnic with friends on a shiny day. I already wander.

It is very easy to make good Korean Caramel. First, put three tablespoons of sugar in a small pan. Next, stiring it with chopstick, melt it on a medium flam lest it burns. Then keeping stiring it ,put a little baking powder into the pan, and it would swell up.Finally, empty the caramel into a plate.

1 avocado(peeled,sliced), 2pounds tomatoes, 6 tablespoons tomato sauce, 12 ounces mozzarella cheese, 1/2 cup diced green peppers, 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms, uncooked dough crust, Salt(to taste) and Black pepper(to taste)

First, kead dough, and make the dough round and flat.Then spread tamato sauce on it. After that, place all ingredients on pizza,with the exception of the avocados. Bake in a preheated 325 degree oven on a rack or cookie sheet for approximately 20 minutes.

I’v ever seen  farmers  demonstrating against FTA on TV. Because government is joining the FTA and It seems it woule make them worse in their earnings. To be honest I was not much interested in that. I just wish that the life of the farmers would not be hard. I  know a little that farming is really not easy. I don’t know well about world and domestic economies and trades but government should not neglect these things. At least they should support it better and put a infrastructure to compete other imported products in qualities and prices. Government support them in many ways because FTA  that government  joined for better economies would be a fatal blow to the farmers.

We not only eat rice as a meal but also enjoy it in many different ways. These days there are many cosmetic things mainly made of rice. It seems like rice have a good component for skin. And it is well known to everyone that washing face with water which be left after washing rice is good for skin. Furthermore  we can enjoy drinks made of rice for example ‘Achim hae sal’. It was quite popular in Korea a few year ago. Finally in Korea especially there is  guessing  fortunes  by uncooked rice although It’s not common.

I met friends who hang out with in university for celebarating one friend’s birthday. All of them not me alreadly graduated. Some went to graduate schools and others got jobs and work.  After graduation  it’s not easy to meet all together. But yesterday we met all together and talk about many things, their new jobs, my school life and our professors and so on. Of course we happily celebrated her birthday. It was really a sweet pleasure to meet my friends again such a long time.
