We are under the control of compulsion. The compulsion is divided into the positive compulsion and the negative compulsion. Especially, the negative compulsion has people behave harmfully to the others. You might have felt strong compulsion to hurt or kill somebody when you are pressed in a jampacked bus or when you receive unfair treatment. But you don’t express your feelings thoughtlessly because you know well that you will be punished by law if you behave as you feel. The reckless expression of compulsion pains you and others. If so, should we stand it forever? Absolutely not. For example, now you grab a balloon which is being put air in and you don’t let it go, it will burst off! An then, the more amount it stands, the more powerful the burst is. How can we handle it? When I was a soldier, I had a moment that everything was going crazy and it was like I was going to be exploded for the anger. Especially, controlling the compulsions was not easy in the group which required me strict law and order. but I was able to get some effective ways to handle my compulsion. I’m going to explain some effective ways.

First of all, control your mind. In the age of limitless competition, it is not easy to control mind. But it is also not impossible to control mind. I want to explain about ‘the rule of ten-seconds.’ If you encounter the annoying problem or even the situation you want to behave violently, just take a deep breath and count ten-seconds. For the ten seconds, think reasonably that expressing your anger would be helpful for you or not. Absolutely, it will be very hard at the first time, but if you keep doing this, it will be your new habit. With the rule of ten seconds, your compulsion will be eased off.

Second, it’s not shameful to express your feelings. But remember that thoughtless behavior without respectfulness can cause another serious problem. Maybe expressing feelings in official place or private has not been tolerated in our society because Korea is a confucian country. They tend to consider that expressing feelings can injure their prestige, so they usually hide their feelings. However, as mentioned, ‘the example of balloon’, suppressing the compulsion cause the much bigger problems. It’s not desirable. In order to avoid the terrible problem, your attitude needs to be honest and polite to deliver how you are feeling. Reading books, meditation and enjoying sports are also helpful for you to organize your minds. 

Third, be affected by positiveness. humans are relative creatures. That means, people are affected by the environment. Nowadays, we learn about all news happening around us for the development of the mass media. However, unfortunately, the news are almost full of negative accident or affairs. Knowing what is going on around us is very important, but the fact causing us so stressed is absolutely true. So, we need to stay away from those negative environment for a while. It is certain that the negative mind or attitude coms out from the negative environment. We need to change the environment to be positive. Here, the positiveness is totally different with optimism because positiveness means that you make effort to change things better continuously. 

In conclusion, modest expression of our feelings is very helpful for us to keep healthy mind and attitude. We are not balloons though, we don’t know exactly when the anger explodes suddenly. In order to avoid the serious conflict, we should know not knowing how to mange compulsion is very dangerous.

Mouth is very important organ in the part of our body. We can eat and also talk through this. In between two, what I want to talk today is that later one, talk. We human being cannot live without talking, which can express our emotion and feeling. Most harsh punishment, in my opinion, is that the person who did the crime become separated from our society and making living alone forever. He might become more and more crazy or foolish because he cannot share his idea and feeling and other stuff which is related with human social behavior. Like this, we cannot take apart our language and social relation. Moreover, we can even think it is the same in that we don’t need our language if there is no social relationship.

           There might be a lot of problem about this but one of the major issue and incident by our slippery talk is come from politician because their task requires social responsibility. Especially words is came from the president this is more problematic. Current president LEE MUNG BAK is good example and whoever becomes a president, he or she should be careful about his statement. There are three reasons for this. Because he is the prime representative of our nation and by his words it brings up big adversary effect on his policy and it cannot put it back once spit, he or she should not talk heedlessly.

           Everybody knows that president is at the top of our country’s decision making. By him, policy, which can fluctuate our country up and down, is decided. Not by him exactly but senator and house but we have to know that he also came from the party. But by one his slippery mistake in verbal, it causes tremendous effect on his policy. For example, President LEE planed to do the 4-river policy. Surely, there was reproach about this policy because policy is just one of the choices we might have in. But by his words, “This policy will make our environment more better”, our citizen, in a slang, pissed up. Why they piss up? This is very clear. Even the dog in the street might notice that this is very bad effect on our environment. That means even very uneducated person might know this is not true. He should have refrained his words rather talk foolishly about this policy’s defect. It looks like he intent people to angry.

           About talking about representative of our country, it is eminent he is our country’s face. In the international society, he is the person who represents our country. If he fails to talk properly, we have big damage on our country’s image. After a trip for FTA(Free trade agreement) with U.S, there was article about this. He was applaud and welcomed by U.S’s senator and house unanimously. He said in the U.S house that this is very thankful thing about fast process of FTA paper. Important thing is we have to understand about talking related with situation. On a flip side, you can understand this that I’m very glad that your country’s support about my tyranny and I will keep submissive to your country. He’d better not talking at all in every place. He just ruin our reputation and he want to be a slave to other country. He can do, but not our citizen.

           Last thing is that he can put it back what he spilt already. There is the word in our country that “You can’t put it back your water already spilt”. That means you have responsibility about your word so be careful and always refrain before you give a words. If the president gives a word it can’t put it back seriously. President is that kind of position everyone looks upon and top of social position in democracy country. If he is sober and psychologically wholesome, how dare he can say without deep pondering. He usually controls the press after he says some words. But we are not idiot. It’s more hard to get back to past which is not saying anything because nowadays the word is proliferating like an ant. Anyone cannot avoid internet power. We have AGURA, which is social discussion centre in the internet, and other stuff to communicate our idea in the virtual world. He definitely needs to be more prudent about his speech or address.

           Historically, the great man has many famous words. Even Steven Jobs, who was Apple corp. president and has died recently, made touchable and impressive words and careful about his words. He was businessman. Our president was the same, he also was businessman. And additional he has name of president in our country now. What he have to learn? That’s prudent, especially his mouth.

There is a moment that makes you are under huge stress. You may think that you can never escape, change and it’s like you are caught in a trap or even in the most stressful times ever. In my opinion, people are now living in the era of too much stress. Yes, We are. The media shows us the very real anxiety about economic troubles, environmental disasters, political discord, wars and terrorism! It makes people think negatively and it spreads really really rapidly like a contagion. The theory of spongy shows us how people are affected by the others’ feeling. The contagious effect. Also it’s conceivable that it could affect a larger population too. If the world is full of people who think and act negatively, the world would be like a hell. I don’t want to imagine that kind of world.

Fortunately, Some keys are here to regulate our emotions in the face of a tsunami of stress. The expert, Gross says ‘We must be turned off from the various communication devices that we are never far from.” Yes, he is right. Everyday, we are around all sorts of bad news! Even though knowing what is happening around the world is a very important thing, it is also true that those news make people stressed out.

The second, change the habit. It means that turning off TV, not seeking out the horror movies, staying away from the negative things. The life we have been used to watching violent scenes of tv pains and devastates our emotion. 

The third is to change the mind. By shifting attention to or thinking of positive things in a very rapid way, our mental activity can be developed. Aside from mental activity, phisical activity is also important. the physical activity can change the emotion and stress response.

Since people are just human, it is maybe impossible to live in the world without any stress. But as Isaid, some effective ways can reduce our stressful life. I hope nobody is suffering from stress. We can change our habit.

As the saying goes，“As every thread of gold is valuable,so is every moment of time.” These words tell us the the value of time , it can’t been bought with money. As for the precious things, we should to cherish. It was compared to the river water, because it can’t return. Time fled, the year passed imperceptibly. Therefore we should cherish the time, use of the time.

　Franklinsaid, “do you love life? Then cherish time, because time is composed of material life.” It tells us time is precious thing. Life is the most important for us, if we lose our life, we’ll lose everything. We cherish life and cherish everthing, we should treasure the time , because life is composed of the time .Life itself is the passing of time , cherishing time is cherishing life. But many people do not know the value of time . It is indeed a great pity . We must bear in mind that wasting time is equal to wasting your life . So If you love life , cherish the time please!

For us, time is limited. In the limited time to do more meaningful things, it can make life more meaningful. But if you spend all your time thinking about doing something tomorrow or after tomeorrow, time will be away from you. And the result of wasting time is to complete things pliled up a mountain. Because there is never enough time , unless you’re serving it. Hope that we all have to cherish our lives , treasure , seize every use of every second . The only time to treasure our lives so that more substantial more meaningful.

          Lately, universal free lunch plan in Seoul is at issue in Korea. This is because there was a Seoul Free Lunch Referendum a few months ago. Policies according to the result of the referendum are putting effect at elementary schools in Seoul these days.

          The former mayor of Seoul Oh Se-hoon proposed to provide a limited free meal service to the 30% of the impoverished children in Seoul despite the Democratic Party proposed to make the free meal service to every kid in Seoul starting from younger elementary school children and gradually to middle school children. This has become the cause of Oh Se-hoon’s action to make the final decision of the policy through a referendum. The referendum was later rejected due to the low voting rate of the referendum of 25.7%. This voting rate is significantly lower than 33% of what Oh Se-hoon had expected. This later contributed his resignation as the mayor of Seoul. This is because he promised he will resign if the voting rate is lower than 33% to draw support from public to object to this policy. From November, 1, The Seoul Free Lunch has started in Seoul as soon as the new mayor of Seoul, Park Won-soon, took office as a successor to Oh Se-hoon. Universal free lunch plan is expending to elementary schools in Jeolla-do, Gangwon-do and this will go into effect at middle schools also from next year.

          Universal free lunch plan at elementary schools came into action with many difficulties, because there were a lot of oppositions to this proposed policy. The main argument of people who are against about universal free lunch plan is that the citizens’ tax burden will increase a lot because of it. Thus this is just for minority by crisis of majority. I do not deny this policy could show crisis of majority for minority, but all crisis is not bad. Also, in this case, paying taxes more for our children who are the hopes of our future is not only for giving them equal treatment, but also for getting better management from our nation. Actually, our tax for social welfare is very lower than other developed countries’. By more paying taxes, we can maintain our society well, beautifully and justly. In this vein, I argue that universal free lunch plan at elementary schools should be carried out as an extension of free education, to reduce the shame of impoverished children and to cause birthrate increase.

           First, free Lunch of schools is an extension of free education. Korean government is offering free education to all Korean children until middle school. It is because education is one of most important condition for human to live well and nicely. In this situation, if some students attending elementary or middle school cannot afford the food service expense, it can be a huge problem to them. Food is more fundamental thing for human being than education. Thus Korean government should provide the essential thing, food, to Korean children with free education.  

          However, some people might argue that there is already free lunch for only impoverished children at schools. Still, my second supporting reason is that previous free lunch to only impoverished children of school can bring shame to them. Even though schools keep it secret between the students and teachers, most of students become know who are getting free meal. Sometimes, this can be a shame and make them lose their confidence in young age, because poverty has been always presented low-graded. They are always in lack of opportunity to get something. For them, what can we do at the least?  

          At last, universal free lunch plan can cause birthrate increase. Korea ranked No. 1 in the world by the lowest birthrate. The average birthrate in Korea does not surpass 1.16 per woman. One of reasons for low birthrate is education expenses so many Koreans go to the United States to give birth to their children. This policy can relieve the burdens of education expenses for school parents somewhat.

          By these three reasons, universal free lunch plan at elementary schools can be better way for our society than previous lunch plan. This policy is already running now and we don’t know how condition will be able to change yet. However, I believe this policy should be put into effect for maintaining our society righteously and forwarding to a welfare society for our children.

          The article “Artificial skin could benefit people with medical alert jewellery” was posted on 21st of April in magazine “Ice Gems”. Researchers from the University of Granada in Spain revealed that the skin was developed using tissue engineering and the findings can be applied in future research and help to avoid laboratory testing on animals. Just like this, genetic engineering can make people beneficial on many sides of human’s life. Genetic engineering, based on biological science, engineering and medical science, makes damaged biological tissues recover and improves the function of organs. In 1980s, this kind of study started to win public recognition though, it is not ready to be activated.

          I believe that genetic engineering is promising. An organ transplant in these days has limits in many quarters, but this tissue engineering can be alternative to the organ transplant by reasons of solution for an organ shortage, safety to patients’ body and replacing animal testing.

          First, tissue engineering can resolve a problem of an organ shortage. Currently, there are more than 7,000 serious cases who are waiting donors. They have to wait for at least a year or two. However, tissue engineering extracts cells from the patient and can make the new organ by using extracted cells, so it is much more efficient.

          Second, tissue engineering is safer than existing organ transplant. There are few people who have suitable genes with patients. Tissue engineering can solve the problem, because it uses patient’s own gene. It doesn’t have any rejection to the patient’s body. So it is much easier and safer way than old ways.

          Finally, tissue engineering could replace animal testing. Pharmaceutical, medical, and cosmetic applications need to be tested, so countless animals are sacrificed each year in labs. However, If they develop tissue engineering, they can make some kinds of things which are genetically similar to the biological tissue of the animal. It bleeds and feels just like an animal does. Tissue engineering can solve an animal cruelty which is morally issued in society.

          Some might argue that tissue engineering can violate human dignity and ecological system. Unlimited cloning of organs and germ cause a trend to make light of human life. However, I disagree with it. It is because we should respect the sanctity of patients who lose hope before worrying about abuse of the technology first. I want to ask them who are against tissue engineering as the same reason, “which is more important?” The ethical issue is a serious problem that cannot be ignored, but we can not give up benefits of tissue engineering.

          Also, other objectors might say that genetic engineering is not needed, because existing organ transplant’s survival rate makes no difference with tissue engineering’s survival rate. Still, for organ transplant, donors must be young and their shape of cellular tissue must be fitted well to patients, which means organ transplant has complicated conditions.

          Therefore, I believe that tissue engineering is very important and precious to our future of medical science so we should support genetic engineering.

         High fashion brand of France, Louis Vuitton, signed a deal on Nov. 30 this year to open its world’s first airport duty free outlet at Incheon International Airport of Korea. Many foreign tourists planning to visit Korea and Koreans who would go abroad through Incheon International Airport were pleased by the news. However, this issue has become a hot potato in the media because of the excessive profits to LV than other brands in Incheon airport. “We believe that Louis Vuitton was very demanding in the conditions for opening its first airport outlet. No other international airport would agree such conditions, but Incheon airport did.” said an industry source who knows the French brand well on condition of anonymity. The privileges given to LV were advantaged location and lower tariff than other brands. LV could not only open their outlet in front and center, between Gate 27 and 28, but they also pay only a quarter or one third of their revenues as a rent, although other duty free shops pay around 40 percent in general. Because of this treatment, other existing shops had to move to another location and it caused great inconvenience to customers. Due to these unfair conditions, Incheon airport has been criticized by public by reasons of crushing the pride of nation and snobbism.

         Incheon International Airport retained its No.1 world ranking in customer satisfaction for last 6 years. Nevertheless, why did Incheon airport give those unfair privileges to LV giving up their pride? I think they could not help choosing that way for their benefit, because Louis Vuitton is expected to contribute to overfulfillment for 1.5 trillion won on Incheon airport’s annual revenues. Then, how can LV bring such enormous benefit to Incheon airport?

          This is because of the popularity of Louis Vuitton. It means LV is “common” and “familiar” brand to ordinary people than other luxury brands. LV also treats luxury items, but it has competitive price. There are many lines in luxury brands and among the rest, low-priced line of LV is cheaper than other brands’. However, most people consider LV is very high fashion and luxurious brand. Thus it can give good satisfaction for customers by not that much expensive price, but affordable a bit hard, so LV could be famous in many people. This is the reason why we can see so many Korean women are carrying LV bag on their shoulder in anywhere, even though, they are not all that rich.  

           Consequently, many foreign tourists visiting Korea love Louis Vuitton than other brands as the same reason I mentioned above. The most of them are Chinese and Japanese who are the largest portions of tourists in Korea. Still, Especially, Chinese tourists buy a bundle of luxury goods in duty free shops at Incheon airport compare to Japanese who just buy a pair of shoes. Thus, satisfying chinese tourists is very important part for Incheon airport’s benefit. In this vein, Incheon airport had to do anything to attract Louis Vuitton to be located as one of their duty free shops.

           The two reasons caused by materialism. By rapid economic growth, Korea which was developing country not too long ago joined the ranks of developed countries. At the same time, the gap between the rich and poor is ever widening in Korea. The rich people want to show their wealth to others, so become to buy some luxury items. Some people who cannot affordable to buy them, but want to be like rich follow their custom. Even though, they are frighten at buying 50$ bag in reality, they raked and scraped money to buy only one luxury bag. This social condition is often found in countries that are not high-developed, but developed rapidly not long ago like China and Korea. This is perfect picture of our age of materialism.

           In conclusion, the popularity of Louis Vuitton, the largest Chinese tourists who love so much that Louis Vuitton and the materialism which cause all the situations made Incheon International Airport gave the unfair advantages to LV than other brands giving up their pride. I do not object to their decision like others, because it would be best way for their benefit and by this incident, the lucxury brands might be able to compete more in price. Anyways, we became know that fact by this incident, “Money talks,” so Louis Vuitton can “talk whatever they want”.

A few days ago, I read a article about organ trafficking, and felt that this is a serious problem. The article pointed out the problems of it and made me think about not only organ trafficking, but also about organ donation. I want to talk whether selling organs should be illegal or not, and whether people who donate their organs after death should have the top priority when they need organ transplant. I also want to compare laws in other countries related to organ donation. In my opinion I believe that selling organs can increase many crimes and cause people to sell it in unfair prices. Also, I think that people who donate organs should be moved on the top list of organ transplant.

First, I would like to argue about selling organs. Some people say that we can sell our hair and our blood, but they wonder why selling organs is illegal? We can reproduce our hair and our blood, but we can not reproduce our organs because we only have one of each in our body. For this reason, many crimes will increase to buy and sell these precious organs. Especially I’ve heard that in the process of buying and selling organs illegally, the brokers use deceptions and violence to buy kidneys from impoverished people. This is a serious problem and need to be strictly scrutinized by the law.

Secondly, I think that the people who donate their organs should be given the privilege of receiving organ transplant. Even though they voluntarily donate their organs I think that they should be appreciated for what they have done. We should pay them buy putting them on the top list when he or she needs organ transplant right away. They can also encourage people to donate their organs afterwards by giving the donors the privilege.

Finally, I want to argue about laws related to organ donation. They are different in America and European countries. In the American law they have to sign a form to have their organs donated, while in the European countries they automatically considered a donor unless they expressly declare that they do not want to be one. I think the American laws is better where people have the right to choose whether they will donate their organs or not after their death, because everyone should have the right to decide.

The article I read made me think deeply about organ donation and organ trafficking. In Korea, organ donation is legal while organ trafficking is not. I know that selling organs have many problems, and that is why the law of selling it should be illegal. Also, people should have the right to choose whether to donate their organs or not. When they do, they should be appreciated for what they have done in a way of giving them the priority of organ transplanted when needed. In this way crimes will decrease and people will be encouraged to donate their organs than before.

 It’s like a fever pitch. It blows all our nations like a tornado. We hardly get out of this from when we were young to adult. That’s English. English is more and more powerful to influence its power in international society. If we travel, if we can use English, there’s no problem except that country is far from the civilization. But I don’t agree about choosing English for our second language because of history and harmful effect to our own language and losing soul.

           You might know about history of Roman Empire. That country’s influence is so huge and wide that even in Asia knew about them. They had very high technology and extreme power in military force. In this era, Roman language, Latin was the standard of education. That means everybody want to learn Latin. But they were fallen down and separated with several countries. Now who learn Latin? There are very few persons who want to learn this language. Comparing this fact with English, we never know when they fall and crush down. Especially, China is growing very fast and making the America’s position down than before. This time is not good to choose the English as a second language.

           To choose the English as a second language makes our country’s language ‘Han-Gul’ in danger. If this law is acting, almost every persons choose English first because ‘Han-gul’ is not popular language in international society. Surely it hurt our language very severely.

           Final reason we should not choose English as a second language is that ‘Han-gul’ has our nation’s soul in it. Language has been developed in step by step from the ancient. Before we born, we used and sophisticated it. For example, King Se Jong, which is the king at Jo Sun era, made it first for ordinary people to help to understand and talk easily. Surely, it’s very scientific also there is generous mind in there and has the soul of that time’s idea because it was made base on our people’s verbal language. How can we abandon our ancestor’s wisdom because of our temporary profit. This is totally nonsense.

           Other nations, especially European country, even don’t choose English as a second language. They keep their language up in spite of pressure of benefit from English. In some respect, language can be the invisible war between nations. To survive in this war, we need to sophisticate our language rather to concentrating English as a second language

        We have a place that we spend so much time. This place is the place we experience at least one time in our life. That is subway. We can’t deny that so called underground or subway gives us convenient life. But manner in there is not going with our development. We should keep our manner in the subway because of morality and international image and dignity.

         It’s very human nature that if we beat someone, that person beat you back. Surely, we are not childish to act like that because we have another way to prohibit bad behavior by law and sometimes our hospitality like ocean but there is tacit rule if you are educated person. It is important not to cross that line. In the subway, that line is quite talk if you have a call. For example, you’re reading in the subway but besides you, someone keeps irritating you by loud phone call. You might piss up because you might think that’s not his place. Like this, public place is very entangled with subtle string; that’s not my place but also you too so it’s hard to guess what they think at my besides. Therefore, you should have more careful in behaving at the subway.

         As I say about second, it fall down our international image. If you’re foreign, you easily find the example. My school professor Gord Sellar talks to us that he feels anger in the subway several times. Hitting other person’s shoulder is very common mistake we’re doing. When it happens, it’s not tough thing to apologize to victim. This kind of small thing can ruin our country’s reputation. If they live in our country long, they might understand how much our citizen has kindness to other, even they are foreign. But they don’t know this fact because he/she might have first visit and culture difference. This is so basic thing and don’t need any effort to do it. If we do our kindness in this small place, it will affect very wide than we expect. Why should we not to do that?

         Last thing is our dignity. To disturb other person’s activity by my selfish behavior in the subway is debasing our dignity by myself. There is research from psychological analyst that we have five step of maturity. In there, at the top, it shows us that our ultimate happiness come from self-satisfaction. You don’t need to find that far. Actually that’s on your nose. You can get your ultimate happiness in this small thing, manner.

         In the society, everything needs to be touched by our hand; we produce everything even that is place, not a material. That means we have ability to change by our own hand. What do you think about joining in this small but wonderful cornerstone to make our society’s atmosphere better?
