Do you know Ho Soo-Kyung who is radio presenter. She is called miss mom that means woman who choose to have babies through artificial insemination without being married and sexual intercourses. Last year, she announced that she is expecting a baby. But she didn’t identify the baby’s father. She just said, she had undergone artificial insemination. And then she gave a birth successfully. Actually I didn’t know anything about that at that time. I just know what’s going on to her by seeing a documiniserises ‘human theater’ recently. After her announcement through media, matter of miss mom becomes hot issue. So people begin to talk about whether miss mom should be accepted as a new type of a family or not. I don’t think miss mom is wrong. But I worry about that miss moms’ children may suffer from social prejudice.
I remember that I have said “I want to have my baby but don’t want to marry.” when I was young. I also think miss mom is OK but, I just feel uncomfortable with that arificial process. It is not a case something earnest such as couple who can’t have baby. Of course it is different to have her own baby but I think she could adopt a baby instead of artificial insemination.
I think she has a right to decide to be miss mom. However, I bellieve the baby need to not only mother, but father. Probably, the baby will miss his/her own father and be confused because of his/her identity.
I agree with him. Baby needs family. There are some things that moms can’t do but fathers can. When she feel the limitaion on this problems, she might regret this. However, since being miss mom was her choice, she has to take all the responsibiliy and try hard to make her baby happy.
