TV Show Program ‘We are married’ There is a TV show called ‘We are married.’ There are four star couples who are pretending as if they are married; they actually live in a same house together and have time together as real couple. The show pretends as if they are showing the couples’ private life and it’s quite interesting.
However, I am little bit uncomfortable with how the couples interact with each other in a view of role stereotype. Usually, men are preparing events and performances for women and women usually receive those in this show, and I feel women are passive in that situation. Also there are many scenes that show stereotype of woman and man, for example men are handling all the hard works and women are showing as someone who needs protection of men.
I agree that it’s actually what happens in real life but by showing that through media and stars it reinforces the stereotype of men and women.
I agree with you. Though relationship between man and woman is changing in the real world, the media can’t show that change enough. Hoever, it sometimes make sence that media is harder to change because the changes happen to some people not all of them but the TV is watched by everyone. It might be difficult fot media to change just for some people.
That’s weird! So this is kind of like… fake reality TV? Because it sounds like reality TV, except, even more fake than the original reality TV (which was already fake enough).
How strange. I’m glad I don’t have a TV!
