A confession of a Loser

Everybody learns something in their entire life . As  I am a part of everybody , I am always studying wether I like it or not in my whole life. This is what I want to talk about. If you have no choice but to do it , why would you do it happily? It seems easy , but doing things enjoyfully is not that simple matter even if most of people would know that it is right to do. For instace, let’s look back on what I have been doing from friday night up  to now. Frankly speaking, I haven’t done anything related with study, and  even I didn’t clean up my messy desk and the floor that my clothings have been  exhibited as if cicada comes from the  pupa. What a loser I am! How can I be called a student? I am so ashamed to confess what person I am. I want to be different! If so,how can I be changed?

I need to restart my resolutions up again. It’s been about a month that I have not kept my resolutions. To maintain my goals, I need to somethindg that can wake me up mentally  and boost my energy. Best thing that I can think of is giving  presents for myself. It could be ridiculous, but I bet and I hope it will work. Presenting myself when each goal is accomplished. Then, I could feel more sarisfied and get some power to maintain to go further.

I will stat right after finishing this writing! My mid-resolutions has just started! I am going to be whole new person. from tonight. I am not a loser any more.

  1. Hm. But if you must do something, isn’t the key to happiness to find a way in which one can do that thing in such a way as to find joy in it? I mean, if one must exercise, the best one can do is find a kind of exercise one enjoys, and do that. It’s the same with studying — one should study what one can fall in love with, and, as a certain Chinese philosopher once said, then one will never have to “work” even one day of one’s life.

I know, I know, it sounds easier than it really is. But there’s another quotation I’ll throw at you, which is one that the famous American composer John Cage said about working on something boring: he said an old Zen Buddhist monk told him the solution to being bored when you’re doing something is to do it again. If you’re still bored, do the thing again the same way two more times. If you continue to be bored, repeat the same thing. Eventually, you’ll find it’s the most interesting thing in the world.

When I first heard that, I was about your age and I thought John Cage was crazy! But then, I tried it, and tried it again, and again, and again… And at the end, I knew how to write music, and I became a better and better saxophonist, and I discovered that it really works. Writing is boring at first because you’re alone, along with a blank page or a blank computer screen and your thoughts. However, when time passes, you discover that you yourself are the most interesting person in the world to you, and you start finding that saying what you think and feel is something that’s hard, but when you manage to do it, it feels really good.

One more tip: making many resolutions at one time can be very overwhelming. When I need to change my habits or lifestyle, I start with one thing and get it right, then change something else, bit by bit, slowly. I find it works a lot better than changing everything at once. What’s more, you’ll develop patience, which has to be one of the most useful things in this world.

By the way — watch your spelling! Have a look at the post and see if there aren’t a few errors you’d like to fix!
