I have an American friend. His name is Thomas, He was my teacher when I studied English conversation at Institute on winter vacation. He’s really outgoing, so we became a friend easily, even though I am so shy. But, he quitted his job in February. He wanted to travel in Australia in March, and go back to America in April. So, I didn’t see him for a month, I just contacted him on the Internet. But, he called me, so I met him with some friends on Friday night. I had a dinner, and drank. He told me his trip, and invited me and my friends to his hometown, Las Vegas. Actually, I didn’t spend a long time that day because it was too late. But, I was really glad to see him, and I hope he will have a great time in America.

You must be sad because he leaves soon, but you can still keep in touch with him! I have a a very close Japanese friend in Japan. We can’t see each other often but we are still good friends!
I love having friends in other countries. Wherever I travel, there’s always someone to meet and have dinner with, talk with, and get the basics on how to get around in that country.
Kyuhee, the second sentence in that paragraph is a compound sentence, but it’s missing a conjunction. What’s the appropriate conjunction, and where should it go?
