Today I studied at library, and I left there around 10 o’clock. After that, I was at a loss which way to go. Finally, I decided taking a bus near Yeokgok station, and when I took a bus, I met my friend! She was in the bus. I was surprised and pleased because I hadn’t seen her for a long time. It’s coincidence. Anyway, I was really happy to see her.
Melina Mercouri was famous actress, and devoted her life to Greece. She was actrees, but she also took part in the national goverment actively, so when coup d´etat occured in Greece, she was banished from Greece. But after that, she started a movement for form a new government. Finally, the new goverment is formed, and she was appointed Minister of culture in 1981. She tried to improve Greek art and sport, especially, she strived to return Elgin marbles, but she died in 1991.
In late 19 century, we were invaded very often. At that time, we were stolen our precious cultural treasure. Among them, The True Record of Chosun Dynasty will return to us, and this return will leave a good example around the world.
When the people travel to Europe, most of them go to The British Museum and Louvre Museum. They are attracted by fantastic remains. But many people criticize England and France because the two museums are symbol of imperialism. In fact, Korea and many country require to receive their cultural treasure. But France and England’s goverment said, they have been keeping them, so those are theirs. It’s very arrogant thinking.
The cultural treasure have many meaning. It symbolize spirit. Even though our The True
Record of Chosun Dynasty will receive, but many of ours is still in other countries. We have to do our best to return ours.
I think most of you are preparing TOEIC. Did you get a good score? Of course, you know TOEIC was changed in May. Many people said it’s more difficult than before, so I worry. Because even before it changed, I didn’t get a high score. Maybe I have to strive to get a high score, so after finished final exam, I’m going to start to study TOEIC. I already took a class. I hope I will get a high score.
I went to see my dentist this afternoon because of my wisdom tooth. Have you ever suffered from wisdom tooth? It makes me crazy! My dentist said, there is no problem in my wisdom tooth, but I wanted to kill the pain, so she prescribed pain killer for me. Now, I’m okay, but I wasn’t okay few hours ago,so today, I didn’t do anything because of the pain. I hope I will be okay tommorrow without taking pain killer.
Do you have any plan for summer vacation? Maybe it’s not proper time to talk about summer vacation because final exam is coming. But it’s really happy to think about vacation, isn’t it? In my case, I don’t have any special plan. Actually, I was supposed to travel to Australia and Japan, but I didn’t earn enough money, so I have to stay in Korea. But I will try to make vacation not gloomy. It will be boring, but I hope it won’t.
When Korea held the Olympics in 1988, people set one hundred pigeons free. After that, pigeons became a problem destroyed city environment. First, their excretion spoils the beauty of the city, especially, parks. It’s too much, so people can’t clean. Second, there are many pigeons which are infected with heavy metals. It can be infectious and fatal to people. Third, they infiltrate grain markets to get feed. They cause damage to grain dealers.
Final exam is going to start soon. Maybe our library is going to be crowded, and it will be noisier than before. In this situation we try to act more carefully. But some people don’t do that. They interrupt people’s concentration. First, they use their cell phone too much. Of course most people sometimes use their sell phone at library. But they don’t put it on the desk, and they don’t make any sound. Second, they deal with books too tough. For example, when they turn a page, it’s harsh to the ears. Finally, they talk to their friends. They think it’s not noisy, and they talk very low. But that’s not, so we have to try to make a good circunstance at library.
May 15th was teacher’s day, so, I tried to go to my highschool, and meet my teacher and friends. But, I couldn’t go because of my class. So, I went to my highchool today. Everything didn’t change. My teacher is still kind, advise me many things, and my school was filled with students who are wearing school uniform. They looked fresh and energetic. They make me think my school days. After I met my teacher, My friends and I thought time is really fast. I was wearing school uniform two years ago, now, I became a university student. Time is amazing. Anyway, I am really happy because I had a chance to think about my school days.
Some kids went to a zoo with their teachers. One girl looked around many animals with them, and there are really cute dogs and cats, so, she stoppped in front of the dogs’ cage. As soon as she stopped, her teacher started to explain about them. The teacher said, dogs, cats, and caws breed quickly, so, they probably won’t exterminate. The little girl nodded her head, and approached them, and finally, she tried to touch them through a space between bars. At that time, one of zoo officers took her hand, and advised that it’s dangerous. He said, they can have viruse, and it can be spread, because viruse like HIV, SARS, and spread easily. She nodded her head again, and she went to see other animals. When she arrived snakes’ cage, she wondered why their cage don’t make of bars. The officer said that animals such as lions, tigers, snakes, and bears are danderous if they escape, so, they have to confine safely, and the girl asked to her teacher. Her teacher said, animals like foxes, lions, tigers, bears, and snakes may attack people, so, she have to be careful. At that time, her classmate said, the snakes skin’s color is similar to diamond’s color. The teacher just smailed. He said, the snake is poor, because people usually wear diamonds as shiny jewerly, so, people who is poor can kill snake, and make fake diamonds. It’s very sad story. The teacher and a little girl said the snake is protected, so, that never happened. The teacher thought kids are creative, curious, and pure.
When you were a kid, you have read a book about Helen Keller. Because we can learn many things through her life.
First, we can learn her patience. For instance, when she was young, she couldn’t speak, but as she grew up, she can. She can speak English, French and so on.
Second, we can learn her courage. She wasn’t afraid of her handicap. For example, most people don’t think people who don’t hear, say, and see don’t become a university student, but, she did. She graduated from Radcliffe College.
Third, we can also learn her dedication. For instance, she raise funds, and she wrote many books for handicapped people.
In conclusion, many people respect her.
Mother Teresa is perhaps one of most respected person. She’s like a woman saint. Because she helped, and saved many people around world. For example, she valunteered in slum, India. She ran a school, and taught kids. She also organized many center not only India but also many places. For instance, she organized nunnery for poor people in new york. After that, she is called ‘Mother Teresa’, and she valunteered harder. For example, she didn’t stop valunteer work when she suffered from heart disease. That’s way people respect her.
She is a little thin. She has long, black and a little currly hair. Her hair comes down to her breast, and she tied half of her hair. She is wearing a small heart-shaped necklace, bracelet and watch. She is wearing two bracelet which is same shape. It consists of small heart-shaped silver things, and her watch is silver, too. She has double eyelids. These days, I go to my friend’s house very often. They live near our school. Their house consists of just one room simply. When I open the door, I can see three-drawers and mirror, and I can also see a dark brown bethroom’s door on the right side. On the left side, I can see a computer. The computer isn’t modern, and is big. So, they put many things like cloths and towels, and there are a white refrigerator. It’s common refrigerator of half size. Actually, their house is not clean, always messy. There are books, papers and many stuff on the floor. But I can talk and make a meal with my friends in a comfortable mood. It’s like a my second house!
Long time ago, a lot of babies died beyond a hundred days. Because at that time, Medical science wasn’t developed in korea. So, Korean people celebrate the baby’s one hundredth day. For that day, we prepare special rice cakes. It’s ‘Beakseolgi’ and ‘Soosoopaddeuck’.
‘Beakseolgi’ is white rice cake, and it means baby’s innocence. ‘Soosoopaddeuck’ is made of red beans, and it’s red. We believed the ghost who take baby’s life is scared of red things and red beans. Next, We have a meal with relatives, and we pray baby’s long life.
You need a shovel, a seed, a pot, and some soil. First, put some soil in the pot using a shovel. Second, make a small hole shallowly. Then put a seed in the hole and cover it. Next, water the pot everyday. Finally, you wait for sprouting.
First, boil water. Second, wash rice cake stick and chop. Third, when water boil, put rice cake in the pot. Then put some mashed garlic, chopped green onion, and some soy souce. Next, when the rice cake is done enough and comes up to the surface, put some stirred egg, and turn off the heat. Finally, add some seaweed.
You need slices rice cake, an egg, a clove of garlic, a green onion, some seaweed, and some soy souce.
These days, many children prefer fast food to rice. But fast food isn’t really good for their health. So, their moms want that their kids eat rice instead of fast food. But, it’s not easy to change their children’s taste which is tamed fast food. How can we change their taste? Well, I want to recommend pizza and cake which made of rice. It’s really good food to fascinate children. Because children can think it’s fast food and it’s very colorful.
Korean people’s staple food is rice. All of Korean people eat rice. But, Many children prefer fast food to rice lately. So, Rice is neglected. But, rice was expensive food and money in the past. Rice was inestimable food until the 5th century. The nobility could eat rice whenever they want, but the common people ate millet and barley. At that time, rice was rarely cultivated. And rice was also used money as increasing output of rice. When people buy something, they paid rice. And, finally, rice became common food in Chosun Dynasty.

There are 20, 25, 30, 33, 40 years old women’s life and love in the book. Among them, I’m touched 20 years old women’s part. Because the writer explained very well. So I sympathized. Especially, I like this sentence “Even if everything is unclear, you don’t need to be sad. Because it’s right of people who is 20 years old.” It consoled me for my anguish. Actually, I’m worrying about my future. Because I can’t predict anything about my future. But, now, I’m relieved. I realized life can’t be predicted. If anyone worry about your unsure future or want to know women’s life and love, read this book! It’s helpful.
I have an American friend. His name is Thomas, He was my teacher when I studied English conversation at Institute on winter vacation. He’s really outgoing, so we became a friend easily, even though I am so shy. But, he quitted his job in February. He wanted to travel in Australia in March, and go back to America in April. So, I didn’t see him for a month, I just contacted him on the Internet. But, he called me, so I met him with some friends on Friday night. I had a dinner, and drank. He told me his trip, and invited me and my friends to his hometown, Las Vegas. Actually, I didn’t spend a long time that day because it was too late. But, I was really glad to see him, and I hope he will have a great time in America.
After class, I had an apointment with my friends. We promised to see a movie. But when we were going to movie theater, one of my friend’s cell phone rang. after that phone call, she said her grandmother is dead. So, I went to funeral. And while I was goind to home, I thought about losing precious people. For me, my grandmother. she passed away in March, 2005. When I heard her death for the first time, I couldn’t believe. Because I didn’t expect to her death. But I could accept it after I saw people who visit funeral. Actually, I don’t have many memories of her. I didn’t live with her and her house was too far from my house, so, I didn’t see her very often. But she was really good grandmother for me, and I miss her tonight.
I went to rest home for old people yesterday. So I got up at 5 o’clock, Because it was located near Bonghawsan station. Actually, at that time, I wasn’t in a good mood. Because the rest home is too far, and I was a little worried because I’m not sure that I would care for old people well. But, when I arrived and met them, one old lady said hello to me with a smile, so I felt relieved. And after that I cleaned bath rooms, took a walk with them. It was really hard, but it was a good experience.
Most of university students have their part-time job. Because they are young, and they have a lot of ambition. So, they earn money, and want to do something.
First, they want to travel to somewhere, kind of backpacking. Especially, they want to go to Europe.
Second, they want to pay school fees by themselves. They don’t depend upon their parents anymore. Some of them earn just their pocket money. I think they are independent.
Third, they want to acquire some job experience. People who want to work for hotel, They work for hotel as a part-timer in advance.
When you become a university student and go to a party, you usually drink. You celebrate someone’s birthday, promotion and something is good things by drinking alcohol. You drink with people and you can have a good time. But, sometimes you drink a lot because of peer-pression even you want to stop to drink. If you are indicisive, it will happen very often. On the contrary, you drink because of depression. You try to get rid of your depression by drinking alcohol.
Are you forgetful? Yes, I’m really really forgetful. so, I have many episodes about my bad habit. The last episodes happened on Friday. I had homework which is submitted until noon on Friday. But, I forgot. When I realized I didn’t submit my homework, It was too late. So, I am trying to get rid of my bad habit by writing important things. But, It’s not easy for me. Because I also forgot where I put my note pad, even I forgot writing important things. It drives me crazy…
