Elementary Composition – Day

My friend came to school crying. When I asked her why she was crying, she wouldn’t tell the reason. So I took her am empty classroom and helped her to be relaxed. Then she said that she had lost her wallet on her way school. She guessed somebody stole her wallet in the subway. She said there weren’t much money in her pursue but there were a couple of pictures,some receipts, a credit card and ID card. I was sorry about her and I said, “I think you can’t find it you lost. It’s useless to feel regret about a loss. So forget about it.” It was the worst day she’s had.

I’ve found the notice about American homestay on the bulletin board in school. As soon as I saw it, I summited the application and put it up for the program. There was a brief orientation earlier today. An American girl named Kimberly is going to homestay at my home on weekends. I saw her picture and she looks very cute. She is a junior majoring business and management. I have made some plans as to where we go, what we can eat, see and do. I’m so excited and looking forward to it.

I’ll talk about a disease that is a problem, AIDS. What is AIDS? AIDS means acquired immune deficiency syndrome. AIDS is caused by the virus, HIV. By killing or damaging cells of the body’s immune system, HIV progressively destroys the body’s ability to fight infections and certain cancers. It’s definately dangerous because there aren’t any edicines and treatments for it at the moment and they can spread HIV over blood,sperm,etc. First, no treatments work for AIDS. It is impossible to cure it perfectly. AIDS patients just wait for their deaths. The pain has been getting worse in their lives and they die at the end. The United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS(UNAIDS) reported that 3million die every year because of AIDS. Second, AIDS is infected by blood and sexual contacts. Common path is to have sex with AIDS patients or share blood. A few years ago, a woman who was a AIDS patient had sex with a lot of men on purpose. The men were infected by AIDS, and their wives were infected too. That’s why AIDS is very fatal, dangerous.

I really like eating out on weekends. My family went to the place where we frequent regularly yesterday. We love the restaurant because the ribs of beef are excellent and definately worth eating, the atmosphere is also great, and they play nice music. It is truly worth visiting. We had a good time!

 

Animals such as lions,tigers,snakes,and bears are dangerous if they escape. Because a lion and tiger,snake,and bear in the ABC zoo escaped and came to my house yesterday, I ran to the Catholic university. There were many foxes,lions,tigers,bears,and snakes in the school. Animals like fox,lion,tiger,bear,and snake may attack people so I went to the Yeokgok station and I took the subway quickly. People usually wear diamonds as shiny jewelry. An old woman was wearing a diamond ring on her right hand. Also, a guy was wearing a diamond necklace on his neck and had a pregnant dog. Dogs,cats and cows breed quickly. Everybody in the subway was surprised because suddenly the dog began to breed. Viruses like HIV,SARS, and influenza virus spread easily. The dog’s owner was coughing terribly and the dog was having a baby so everybody got off next station. It was a terrible day.

I’m a head of the club, ROTARACT in catholic university. The meeting is held every Tuesday. Because I’m a head, I preside over the meeting. Earlier today, there was a meeting. I was happy  because most of members attened. A few minutes into the meeting, I got upset because I found some mistakes in the paper which is used for the meeting. I love my club and members.  Also, I’m really happy because I’m a head of Rotaract.

Mother Theresa deserves to become a saint for many reasons. First, she devoted her life to helping the poor of India. For example she established school for children of the slums. Also, she helped the poor, the sick, the lepers, the AIDS patients and the lonely in India. Second, Mother Teresa helped the people in all over the world. She helped the hungry in Ethiopia, radiation victims at Chernobyl, and earthquake victims in Armenia. Third, she received a number of awards and distinctions, including the Pope John XXIII Peace Prize and the Nehru Prize for her promotion of international peace and understanding. She also received the Balzan Prize and the Templeton and Magsaysay awards. 

 

Hellen Keller was a great woman. First, Helen was a warm-hearted person. For instance, when she was only 11 years old, she helped a guy named Tommy who was very poor. She gave him all her money that she had. Next, Helen liked to learn something. For example, she learned to read Latin, Greek, French and German from her teacher, Sullivan. She also learned to use a typewriter. Finally, she was self-sacrificing. For example, she worked for many years for the American Foundation for the blind. She wrote a lot of books and articles. Helen showed that disabled people could succeed.

It is known as the river of miracle. It runs through Seoul and divides the city into its northern and southern region. Sometimes I go to this river in order to enjoy the weather and have a nice walk. There are many places where people can participate in soccer, volleyball, basketball, swimming, water skiing, boating, and fishing. I have seen the moon over it many times. It was so beautiful. The night view of it is world-famous and truly spectacular. I like the water at night and the way the light reflects off the water. It makes me calm. Lights from the buildings on the other side of the river shine in the ripples of the water. Visit and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Can you guess what it is?

 

 

My partner has long straight, black hair down to her breast. Her hair is arranged neatly at her forehead. She is wearing a simple silver necklace and a heart-shaped gold ring on the third finger of left hand. Also, she has fabulous vivid pink nails. Her skin is a little dark. She is wearing a modern blue pants and black shirts with English letters. She is wearing clean white sport shoes. She is wearing black string on her wrist but she doesn’t tie up her hair.

Mom feels bad, so I made kimchi fried rice for my family’s dinner yesterday. First, I cut Kimchi and ham into small pieces. Then, I sauteed them with cooking oil on a frying pan for a few minutes. After that, I put the rice in and cooked some more. I put rice into the plates and sprinkled sesame seeds. It looked nice,but I was really disppointed after I tasted it. I was not delicious as I expected. Frankly it was rather salty. My dad did not like it. I wanted to be a good cook, but unfortunately I am not!

It is already middle of spring. Forsythias and azaleas are now full bloom. Also, the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. The cherry blossoms are best in the early of middle of April. It is pleasant to take a walk in the scent of spring, drawing a deep breath. I wish spring lasted all the year round.

You need some salt, warm water and a washcloth. First, wash your face with a soap or cleanser. Second, disolve salt in warm water. Next, dip a washcloth in the water and leave it on the pimples for five minutes. Finally, dab the pimples gently.

You need some rice, some garlic, an onion, an carrot, some ham, some salt, pepper, one spoon of smashed sesame, one tspoon of  oil. First, wash the rice and steam the rice. Second, wash an onion, garlic and carrot. Third, take off the skin of garlic and cut the root of an onion. Next, chop the onion, carrot, garlic and ham. Fourth, Put some oils on fried pan and pre-heat it. When it is hot enough, put those stuffs into the pan and fried it until it become well done. Finally, when they are well cooked, put some more oil and rice.

Rice is a good source of other B vitamins, potassium and calcium. Also it is a good source of thiamine,riboflavin and niacin. It is high in complex carbohydrates and is a good source of fiber. In contrast, its sodium content is refreshingly low. Without a doubt,  rice is an mportant component of a balanced diet. And, it also offers exquisite flavor. No wonder it has created such a stir among today’s health-conscious people.

Rice is popular in korea because of weather. The geographical circumstances of the Korean Peninsula have influenced the climate to be suitable to form a rice-based diet that Koreans live on in everyday life. The Korean Peninsula is located at the far east of the Eurasian continent, and its latitude is from 33 degrees to 38 degrees, which means Korea is under the influence of the temperate and continental climate. Because of the climate, Korea has four distinctive seasons.

English professor made us have a free English discussion in class today. I wasn’t ready. I had opinions that I wanted to share with my classmates, but I couldn’t make sense of what I wanted to say. I was really irritated by the lack of my English ability. I will practice speaking my mind in English for the next discussion. I want to be a participant, not just a listener.

I have a younger brother. He is a high school student. He is 19 yrs old and I’m 21yrs old. He is the top in his class but I have never took first place in my examination. He is very reasonable, logical and patient but I’m really emotional and impatient. He is sort of serious and blunt. He doesn’t talk much. He usually responds too short. Yesterday I said “hey, I bought a MP3 through internet web site.” and he said “ok.” That’s all. He likes to watch sports games on TV but I like to watch dramas and sitcoms. He does not have the guts but I do. When I’m with him, I always talk like a chatterbox. He takes after my mom and I resemble my dad. He has a black face and I have a white face. We don’t have a lot in common but I love him. My brother comes back home from school at 11:30pm. After taking shower, he eats some refreshments. While he has some food, I talk to him. I think it is my happiest time in my day. So I always wait for him until 11:30pm. He doesn’t talk to me but I know he loves me so much. I LOVE my brother.

What is your favorite movie? Titanic is one of  best films I’ve ever seen. I’m sure that you guys have seen this before. I think you see a synopsis of the movie and characters. The whole thing was really wonderful. It was very touching. It is  never boring even though I watched it several times. It is a drama with a romance in it. I enjoyed every mintute. Especially the title song sung by Celine Dion was great! At the end of the movie, I couldn’t help crying. I will never forget the film.

People can have a lot of fun and much information by watching movies. Recently, movies provide us with useful information about countries. Different countries with different cultural backgrounds produce different types of filmes. For example, Hollywood movies differ from korean movies. A film reflects own culture. Hong kong movies differ from France movies. Through these movies, we can know what they consume, they wear and thier languages. Also we can find how they behave and think. Films also can tell us about social, historical and political problems of the country. By watching these films, we can learn about the problems of people of other countries. In conclusion, Films make all the countries of the globe look more and more like. We have become aware of countries by watching films.

There are many kinds of alcohol which you might be interested in in korea. Korea has its popular own alcohol beverages which are quite different from whisky, brandy and vodka. They are what they call ‘So-ju’, ‘Makkoli’, and ‘Chung-ju’. First, So ju is the most popular alcohol in korea. The taste ‘So-ju’ is very bitter and It has almost no smell. It is nearly pure alcohol itself. Second, ‘Makkoli’ is a unrefined liquor. It has almost all kinds of tastes. It is somewhat sweet, sour, bitter, and very unique. Third, chungju is clear strained rice wine. It has 15% to 20% alcohol concentration.

I took the subway to go to sinchon yesterday. The subway was crowded. Fortunately, I took a seat beside a young woman who was talking on the phone. She was carrying on loud conversations with no regard for other people. I was so upset but i didn’t say anything. An half an hour later when i got off my stop she was still going on. People who have good manners leave good impressions.

I teach English and math to a high school student. yeah, I’m a tutor. I have been teaching for seven months. He is the third grade in high school student. you know, it’s really important period. but he doesn’t study hard and he is bored with his study. I’m worried about hime a lot. Among part time jobs, tutoring is best part time job, i think. First, I can take a seat. when I worked at conveniece store in freshman, I stood for eight hours a day. It killed me. Second, I can get much money. Pay is good than other jobs. Third, it’s worth to teach someone. When he understand my explanation clearly and get a good grade in his exam, i feel very happy. I like my part time job!

have you seen the movie “Ice Princess” ? i watched it a few days ago. Casey is a high

school student. She and her single mother has a goal of attending Harvard. Casey has to

prepare for science project to get a scholaship for Harvard. While she was focused on her

project about skating, she discovers her raw talent about figure skating. On Harvard

interview day, she said no Harvard. Her mom is really mad at her. But she says ” i gave

your goal. i will go after my goal ” Her mother can’t afford to skating and she had a

original goal but she challenges it.  Throughout Casey’s trials and triumphs, i think of my

dream a lot. actually i don’t have a clear dream. i just want to get a good job after

graduating university. Are you guys worried about future? just watch Ice Princess.
