Give me rice, or give me death.
In Korean language, most of time, the word for eat means “eat rice”. Most of Korean people think eating snack or bread cannot be a regular meal. Even if they had snacks or breads fully, they have to eat rice again for tree times meal. When it comes to elders, it would become more serious. They often say that unless they eat rice, they won’t feel satisfied. Also, they habitually say “I live my daily life with the power of rice.” When I was young, I couldn’t understand why they said like that, because I liked eating snacks and breads more than rice. However, now I’m all grown-up and I became be able to understand what they said. I don’t know it’s because of I’ve been living as Korean or the diet that I’ve been eating whole my life. One thing I can be so sure is I have to eat rice for my meals everyday.
