Elementary Composition – Day

You could make a different decision depending on how old you are. I cannot agree with living in a specific area all the time, such as a small town or a big city.

    If you were not old enough to go to school or too old to start something new, you would prefer to live in small town like a suburb. Small town in suburb has more clearer, freshier air and surroundings than a big city. Needless to say living in that place is good for kids and seniors. To these people, nothing is more important than relaxing in peaceful town, and interactering among the nature and the neighborhoods. But, you hardly find a variety of people, experiences in a small town.

   Now, if you were an adult who have to earn their own money, study in school or any other places and need more career in jobs, you would need to live in a big city. You should have more experiences and studies while they are living in the big city. When you were living in the big city, you could catch many changes about your career., and jobs, despite a lot of tasks, studies and unfresh surroundings. In addition, you seem to be competing among the others. From that, you are going to realize how valuable time is and how trifling I have now.   

People attend collegues and university for many different reasons. I see that the most common reasons are to expand their thinking about themselves and things around them, to prepare for career and to experience skills about their major and to help by themselves without their family and friends.

   People attend an university or collegue to expand their knowledge in subjects they find interested. This will be their last chance for a long time to learn about something that doesn’t relate to their career. From learning that, people have a wide view and all-round skills.

   Also, people want to prepare for careers and to experience skills about their major through the collegues and universities. Career preparation is becoming more and more important to young people. People have more experiences related to their major, more useful working in society.

   Besides, the students are having the opportunity to meet people different from those in their hometown. So, they become to be themselves without helping their family and friends. It’s the first time they had to do by oneself. Such that increases independence and makes them decide to do something by themselves. Through the campus life, people can find more useful things than they are expected and knew.  

New factories do not always bring many good things to a community. We could have different conclusions; what kinds of factories for.

   If we lived in a develping community, we should support buiding the factories. In the case, the factories would be helpful and useful in our community. More factories will be built, more jobs will be created. And money will be circulated well in our town. Much economic effects would be spread out the town.

   On the other hands, if we lived in a developed town, we don’t need to build the factories. Of course, I see that the growth will change our city a lot. But, it’s worth being safe and keeping well in our town’s surroundings.

   To prevent circumstance in ours would be likely to make some more income than to build the factory. Good sceneries and convenient facilities will attract many travelers and other citizens.

   We sould think about how advanced our town, what our community really wnats and how much income we have before we support or oppose the factory. And we have to choose one of the selections. It’s up to our answer about all of things.

If I could change one thing about my hometown. I think it would be the fact that there’s a lot of noise in community. The worldcup stadium near my house has many events and makes much noise, being built apartments and structures for these days, and running cars on the road have some problems.

    People living near the worldcup stadium suffered from so much noise. Different kinds of events are held. Not only soccer games, but also musical concerts and festivals are annoying people near here. For instance, in 2002, when the world cup games were held, I went to high school in senior. Most twelveth grade students have to study for C.S.A.T. But, all we can do is concentrating on our study.

    Also, more higher the value of land around ours for the worldcup stadium, more apartments are built these days. Of course, living quality is upper than former years’ that. Nevertheless the constructing doesn’t seem to be over, and much noise, either. I hope the construction end soon.

   Besides, people have to endure noise from cars and busses than the the other town. Overspeeding cars and busses at night must be permitted not do that again. And people with that sound proofings around the apartment will be built.

   No one wants to be disturbed by noise any more. People would like to live in a quiet and peaceful place. The problems have to be solved as soon as possible.   

Most people believe that television has destroyed communication among friends and family. I don’t think that way. To show is one thing, to communicate is another thing.

     Television is an important role in family and friends. Nowadays, people are far too though about in their own friends and family to worry over much about what they are doing and why. And watching on television together, they could make a conversation more than former time.

    Now, all they share the pregrams will be dreams or comic shows. But, the quality they talk may well be low. They sure will have fun time and talk about a lot. Nothing is more or less. That’s all.

    Television is not always detroying communication among friends and family. It has been an important part in communication. But, there remains only useless words or laughs which selections are you choosing, the chatting a lot each other or communicating of deepness with real meanings. It’s up to you.

Captial punishment is the only fitting punishment for murder. A central principle of a society is that every person has a right to “life”. That means nothing could be more important than this. Within that framework, murduring should be unexcusable under any circumstances. A murderer is hard to rehabilitate; he can easily repeat his crime.
     And goverment has a big responsibility that defend people from such danger. For this reason, the death penalty is essential to a just and moral society. Anyone who denies the right of life by unjustly taking. And, the standard of judgement has to be the punishment fits the crime.
 

Flies is the one of the most disgusting insects man’s ever seen. First, flies are nuisance to people’s life. For example, they usually go round and round a person when they eat for meals, read a book, and pay attention to something. Second, they give a person with a disease. They infect a serious germ like asthma, tubercle, and a skin disease. Third, they look so disgusting. Especially, such a big fly like bottle-green fly feels people creepy, gross, and filthy. That’s why people hate flies.  

Hankyoreh paper would be one of the best newspapers in korea. Before answering why I think that way, I’m going to give you some information about newspapers. There are several kinds of newspapers in our country including national daily newspapers, internet, local and English-language papers. Three of the national daily newspapers are eving papers, and the rest of them could be possible both morning and eving papers.
Although Hankyoreh is no longer popular and older that other major papers like Cho-sun, Joong-Ang, or Dong-A, the reason I think is the best is that it has characteristics. Above all, Hankyoreh hardly ever gives a very one-sided account of social problems or issues. And the newspaper accepts different kinds of opinions from the readers. Also, Hankyoreh was founded by reporters who have been fired unfairly from another newspaper of had resigned from their job with anger at the absurdity of the situation. For these reasons, most reporters who work for this paper could be more honest and trustworthy to their articles and readers, and that’s why I like it. 
 

Some old people from the U.S. visit in Korea. They gdt on a sightseeing bus around Seoul. It’s is time to go to the zoo, and they look around the zoo. There are many dangerous animals like foxes, lions, tigers, bears, and snakes may attack people if they escape, so they have to be caged. But, domestic animals such as dogs, cats, and cows breeded quickly are hardly in the zoo, because they are really common animals, and they don’t have to be in cages.

  Some visiting people usually wear diamons rings as shiny jewelry among them because they want to look better wearing gems. The problem is that one monkey really like to collect something shiny, and it has an eye on an woman’s ring over and over. When the woman comes near by the monkey to see in details, the monkey bites her finger and takes her ring out. The monkey has AIDS viruses, and the viruses are high contagious. Because viruses like HIV, SARS, and AIDS spread easily, she gets AIDS. Finally, she died from the disease.

Blessed Mother Teresa is one of the most important people contribute to the world’s peace. She helped many poor and sick people around the world. For example, she volunteered in many organization to care of lepers, orphans, and beggars. She also had an anti war movement. For instance, when the Gulf war happened, she visited both presidents of the U.S. and Iraq, and solicited them to say not to do it. She was a really devout person. For example, she got leperous and had many severe diseases a few years before you was death. Although she was sick, but she really tried to take care of more sick people than herself. That’s why People believe Teresa was worth to get Novel Peace Prize and very honorable person. 

Abraham Lincon is the one of the most respected president in the U.S. He typified the self made man. For example, he educated himself at home using library books, and trained himself to be a lawyer. He also made a big contribution to the Civil War. For instance, he tried to unify the State into one nation. He was a so familiar and modest president to people. For example, he had been cultivated his beard because of a letter from a little girl. The girl told that having beard will look so depth as a president. After that, a beard became his trade mark. That’s why most American think Lincon is a great president.

Let me introduce one of the most nasty women my class mate has ever seen. Her name is Yum-Chi lives in a house for the old and sick. She always speaks daggers to people. For instance, she often says “Shut up!” to not only volunteers, but also nuns. She also give a slap people in the cheek. For example, my friend got slapped in the cheek by reason that she didn’t comply with her request. And, she likes to monkey around with the volunteers. For instance, she flee frequently in all haste from the volunteers, and the people have to find her for about four or five hours. That’s why Yum-Chi seems to be a very nasty woman.

Yesterday, I volunteered as an assistant at a home for the old. And I want to picture a room in the building called a visiting room. It has four tables and each table has four chairs. Four corners of the room are stalked out a little bit and painted white. There are two long big, but locked windows at the wall, and there isn’t any curtain over windows. Window frames are made of wood. Between windows, there is a decoration which is shaped a heart. It might be made by other assistants for Chistmas. And a cross is attached over a deco. There is a notice board on the right side of the windows and some notice papers for the old’s family or visiters. A lower book case is near by left side of a heavy steel door, and has some books, newspapers, and magazines. Totally, the room looks a bit large, but little dark and shadowy.  

 I’m going to describe a figure of classmate. She has black curly short hair to shoulders and parts her hair on the right. Her forelock is to an left eyebrow. A dot is under her right eye. Her face dimples with a smile, and looks so white and fair. She wears a gold couple ring with her boyfriend, a small cute elephant earings, and a pink colored watch with a silver heart in a silver circle. And she puts on a blue jacket turned her sleeves up, a white blouse with lace, a skirt with many prints like flowers, and lether and green shoes having a red edge. She looks all over so cute and charming. Who is she? She can be you reading this post now.

Using animals for sports events wouldn’t be humane. There are several kinds of sports events used animals, including bullfighting, horse racing, dogsledding, rodeo and so on. Some people would use animals for their entertainment and business only. Not only do they train their animals severe, but they lock them in tiny cages or chains month after month, city after city. Instead of treating these animals in a hard way and supporting these unkind business, these animals should ne in their habitat, exploring, and raising families. Also, people should seek another entertainment. 

 

Seoul would be one of the best city for a visit. Seoul is the political, cultural, and economical center of south korea. And there’s an endless list of things to do in and around the city, including ; shoping, hiking, biking, skiing, fishing, hunting, martial arts and climbing. With a seemingly endless calender of street fairs and festivals, as well as a selection of fine beaches within easy reach, you’re unlikely to be at a loose end.
       To find out exactly where you go, begin with a trip to Seoul tower’s observation deck which, at 370 meters above sea level, it offers a panorama of the entire city. Back on the ground, there’s plenty to see and do around the base of the tower, such as the National Aquarium, Ocean Life Museum, Funny World and Namsan Botanical Gardens. If you are looking for a more cultured way to spend your time, Seoul is rich with palaces. For a glimpse into the life of royal family in the 14th century Joseon Dynasty, Kyung Bok palace is available. Although some parts of the palace are off limits, a tour is worthwhile if only to see the Biwon or Secret Gardens. It’s a place of relaxation for the kings and the royal family. Also, if you are visting in winter, Yougpyong Resort and Muju Resort would be the perfect place for skiing. Once you visit Seoul, you’ll never forget how nice Seoul is. 

The culture and meaning of birthday party is changing over and over among school boys more than in the past.  

        About ten years ago, most elementary students had a birthday party that was a small and little with children’s family or friends. They would eat kim-bab(it looks like a California roll, it is included lots of vegetables, a slice of ham, or tuna, covered with a piece of laver.), dduk-bok-ki(a seasoned rice cake), a birthday cake, cookies, and candies like that in their home. Birthday presents were primarily simple school things.

        But, nowadays, most school boys like to eat out with their friends or family at family restaurants. Their presents also changed. They don’t like simple school stuffs any more. They would want to get some money or expensive things like cell phones, MP3 players, or notebook computer like that. They seem to take it for granted. The price of presents or money would be considered as how much their parents love their children.

        Because of such an excessive competition, the real meaning of birthday turns vague, and other poor school boys may has a real deprivation. But what presents they had wouldn’t be important. The most important for them will be really loved by their family and friends. 

 

Use cookie cutters in a variety of ways to add to your valentines. 
  First, assemble a selection of various sizes of heart-shaped cookie cutters. Second, use the cookie cutters as stencils. Trace them to create perfect hearts on your valentines. This is a good method for children who have difficulty drawing hearts. Third, try tracing a large heart and progressively smaller hearts inside it with different colored pens or markers. 
Forth, trace the hearts on several layers of colored paper or fabrics and glue them on top of one another on your card to give the card depth. Next, create your own sugar-cookie or chocolate-chip-cookie mix. Measure some into plastic bags. Write baking instructions on a heart-shaped piece of paper or card stock. Punch a hole in the corner of the instructions. Attach the instructions and a heart-shaped cookie cutter to the bag with red and pink ribbon. Give these wonderful packages as gifts to all of your valentines. Then glue an attractive heart-shaped cookie cutter onto a card. Cookie cutters with handles or scalloped edges are particularly nice for this. Decorate the rest of the card. Finally, use a heart-shaped cookie cutter as a frame for a decorated cookie valentine. Bake some heart-shaped cookies. Decorate the cookies with Valentine’s Day messages. Place each cookie inside a heart-shaped cookie cutter and wrap in cellophane. Decorate the package with ribbons. Giving a valentine cookie this way helps protect the cookie from breaking during transport. 
 
 

  First, chop the bones of the four legs of a cow and soak them in water to take out the blood. Add ginger and garlic. Skim and deglaze. Second, chop the meat into reasonable sizes and wash. Boil together with bones for a long time. Third, when the meat is cooked, cool it and slice thinly. Forth, wash the green onion and cut into small pieces. Fifth, put the white soup into an unglazed earthenware bowl or other deep soup bowl, and accompany it with the meat. Next, put a green onion, garlic, chili powder, sesame salt, pepper and sesame oil into the say sauce to make ‘da-de-gi’ chilli sauce. Then put rice into the soup and add salt, pepper, garlic and a green onion to taste. Finally, depending on your taste, add ‘kak-doo-gi’ kimchi juice or ‘da-de-gi’ chilli sauce.

  You need the bones, ginger, a clove of garlic, a green onion, some chilli powder, sesame salt, pepper, sesame oil, and a soy sauce.

It’s hard to say who the most important person is in korea.

  Because different kinds of people would have had good influences on different parts in our country. But, when asked to choose one, I would go for the president, Park Jung Hee. The president could have more effects on our country than any other person. The president, Park Jung Hee ruled korea using military force in the 1960′s. Koreans have different points of views on him and his work. Some say, he was a dictator, and others say, he was a strategist with tremendious charisma like Jo Jo in Sam Guk Ji. But, President Park may be the best president in respect of economic growth in korea. After the korean war, thousands of korean people were suffering from hunger and poverty for a long period of time. To revibe the economy, he built Gyung Bu expressway, investing astronomical money in construction. Thanks to the express highway, the economy got better and better, and private enterprises so called major companies in korean like Hyun Dai or Dae woo could develop very rapidly. The series of events could be based on the developing industries in korea.

  Now, we all couldn’t dream of enjoying the wealth in korea without him and, he is one of the most important people in korea’s modern history, inspite of strong criticism on him.

It sounds great to improve men or women for their leadership in their societies.

  It’s certain that many rights groups would have been a big help to stand up for people’s rights, especially women. There are several kinds of women’s rights groups not only in korea, but also in most other countries, such as NOW, Women for women, AWID and so on. These groups usually urge government to make laws against incent assalt, child abuse or domestic violence, and campaign for their equal rights. Compared to this, rights groups for men have hardly ever been founded until now. The reason that the nunber of women’s rights groups is more than men’s ones is women had not been treated in the same way as men’s. It means, a lot of men have considered women their assessaries or maids.
  Of course, I agree with the women’s movement, but I prefer not to be categorized as a feminist. Because, some people who belong to the groups seem to misunderstand what real women’s rights are. Most parts of their opinions would be more related to comparison between women and men than difficulties they are solving. They usually say, “While man can do anything they want, why cannot women?” But, I think, it doesn’t matter who can or cannot, and such an argument means nothing. Every problem should be about people, not women or men only. And, they should fight not with men, but bad laws and customs they have been surrounded by.
  Now, all choices, reponsibilities, and possibilities are up to you. If you want to get better for your leadership, you should try as much as you could. 

Traditional rice cooking is an Asian housewife’s pride and family’s secret.

  Ingredients range from plain rice steamed in plain water, cooking with salt, with butter, with soup or with spice. Cooking wares range from clay pot, ceramic pot, pan, bamboo trunk, leaf or, simple cloth. For modern housewife, bamboo trunk is replaced by electric rice cooker. It is easy to buy, from any oriental shop. It is convenient to use, just pour in rice&water, close cover, plug, push button and wait. All good rice cooker come with cooking instruction. Following is some rice cooking tip.

  A typical Asian rice eater like me take about 100g dry rice (about half cup). Rice for side dish may be lesser portion. For small amount, cooking ratio is 1 cup of dry raw rice cooked in 1-1.2 cup of water. Softer cooking need more water. To cook larger amount, increase rice&water proportionally but use little less water. Rice can be cooked without additive. Some prefer salt or butter, taste vary to individual. Try with small additive first. Best to buy cooking pot according to your requirement. If you are preparing for family of 2, use cooking pot for 2 cup rice. Do not use too large pot as it will have too large cooking surface which can make rice uncooked. When rice is cooked off fire or power and let rice simmer for minimum 10 minutes. This will make rice more tender and not sticked to pot. For firm cooking (fried rice) parboiled rice is suitable but 10-20% more water is required for cooking. For normal firm cooking, use white rice. Hom Mali and Basmati give soft cooking rice but Hom Mali is little sticky and wet but Basmati is dry. Glutinous will turn sticky and shiny when cooked.

 

Most Korean live largely on rice.

  As comparing with the past, the consumption of rice has decreased. People in cities started to eat cereals like corn or wheat for breakfast because they don’t have enough time to boil some rice and their tastes have changed. But, it is still important part of Koreans’ staple food. Nowadays, healthy or organic food have became popular among people. Some scientists said eating rice can be a big help to improve people’s health or keep good shapes. That’s why most people are beginning to eat rice for their meals again. In addition, people living in other countries have been taking an interest in eating rice. Because of its advantages, rice should exactly deserve to remain Korean’s staple food.

I’m going to talk about how to study for an exam.

  There are a few ways to be helpful. First, keeping your attention in class is the best way to study for an exam. After the class, you should be ready to review what you’ve learned over and over until you can memorize totally, based on your text book. Second, teaching by yourself would be more important than any other ways. This way would not only make you be a self-dependent student, but teach you to manage schedule. And, you could study everyday leading up to the exam. Finally, you should find a quiet place to study away from all distraction. While studying, such a distraction as a mobile phone or chatting messenger should not be allowed to use. Now, it’s time to practice. All possibilities would be up to you. Fighting!!

Human beings basically are born with freedom and have rights to be respected.

  And, people should have rights to select or choose what they want to do. Some people say women should have a big responsibility as a mother, not as a working woman. Sometimes they believe being a mother is one of the most important values of women’s life. Of course, a mother is a role. However, as the number of working women has increased, mothers should also have a job if they want despite the possible problems.

  People say a major problem a working mother faces is raising her children. In fact, a mother is an essential part of their growth in terms of emotions, education, and other carings. Here, one of the most famous scientists of the world, Jane Goodall, a zoologist, can be a good model as a successful working woman and a mother. She got a docto’s degree of zoology at Cambridge University, and she is a trailblazer in researching chimpanzees. And her recent book ‘Jane’s reasons for hope’ has became a best seller in Korea. When her son was 9 years old, she became a widow. But, she was able to serve two ends, as a mother and as a working woman. Her son has been helping her research now, and has already grew up as a good man. From  Jane, we can discover that a working woman can also take a care of her children while achieving her goal.

  It’s said that added expenses such as hiring a baby sitter or transportation would cause problems. In respect of money, a working mother can inflict a loss on money more than when she doesn’t work. But, I think the purpose of a job is not for earning money, and the economic problem will restrict women to displaying thier ability, and being a part of society. By getting a job, both fathers and mothers can get honors and respects from other people. Mothers also need self-achievement. And such self-satisfaction cannot be exchanged for money. If a community lets such valuable human resources leave alone, it will bring a tremendous loss to the community. Communities should promote mothers to work outside rather than to stay home as a mother.

  Many mothers in our community may have suffered from their duty at home. Mothers should not carry all responsibilities on their shoulders.

It’s about one of my best friends’ story.

  A couple of weeks ago, my friend had a blind date with a guy. He was not only handsome, but also polite, quite humorous and popular with many girls. He’s so-called ‘Casanova’. And she forgot herself as she met him for the first time. But she worried about herself. She has thought she looks so beautiful and charming. So, she thought she didn’t deserve to have a date with him. She felt like breaking her heart if she loves with him. And the really sad thing was she was dumped by him at the blind date. She felt desperated and was cried for a whole day. She made a phonecall to me at around midnight, and talked me her feelings crying over and over. I found myself at a loss for words of consolation. I was also sad, because I really love her. How can I speak smoothing words to her? Please give me an advice.

Trees and flowers are necessary for people to live.

  Plants can protect people from air polution. They can purify dirty air to clean air through photosynthate. Also, plants control the temperature of earth cannot increased anymore. Thank to them, we don’t really suffer from skin cancer or after effects from a green house effect. In addition, plants can help people give an emotional stability when they are under stress.

  The problem is that many countries cut plants down, and earn huge incomes by selling. But, we are not owners of earth. We are just users. For our descendents, we have to keep our environment. First, more governments should publish ‘Arbor day’ every year than now, and encourage people to plant trees and flowers. Seconds, environmental communities or organization should hold campaigns to realize recent problems around them.

  Without plants’ help, people cannot live longer and healither. Before thinking of our benefits and conveniences, we’d rather think about what way is more wiser. We should keep plants with all of our efforts.

A couple of weeks ago, it was un unlucky day.

  People usually call the day Murphy’s day. In the morning, I got up late and I felt like being late for school. Because I was so hurry to go to school, I forgot to take my cellphone, wallet, and credit card. When I arrived at the train staition, I realized I didn’t take something. But, I cannot go back home. So, I decided to gain some coins on the street. I felt so ashamed, but I cannot help doing that. After arriving at school, I borrow some money from one of my classmates who I’ve hardly ever been hand and gloves with each other. Anyway, I could barely get fare to come home. But the problem is that nobody was at home. I didn’t have keys, cellphone, and any money! It was terrible. Only thing I can do was just waiting and waiting. It was too cold to stand on the passage of my story. I really wanted to shout loudly. At that time, my younger brother came up to 7th floor and I could be in my home. All the day seemed like Murphy’s day, and what is worse, I got really bad cold.

I’d like to tell you an anecdote about a friend of mine almost chaged into Marilyn Monroe.

  A friend of mine and I were students in the first year of highschool in 2000. We both had attended an extracurricular class at a private institute. After school, we were on our way to there on foot. As we were walking on a ventilator over a subway, the end of our skirts was rolled up to our waists. But, we both were so concentrating on memorizing what we had learned in school that we didn’t much care about surroundings. At that time a group of boys behind us burst into laghter and said, “Look! Don’t that girls look like Marilyn Monroe?” We stopped walking and relized what had been happened to us. All we had to do was to escape from that situation. We ran out as fast as we could without taking a glance at anybody. Although the memorial made us feel ashamed, we never forget it.
