Welcome to the course!
If you’re looking for a copy of the syllabus, you can download a copy in PDF format here:
I will ask you, with a partner, to fill out the student information paper which you can download here:
… but please wait for my instructions. I will tell you how to fill this form out, and it’s not due for a couple of weeks. (I’m only putting it here so the link is ready when you need it.)
If you have any concerns about this course, please make sure you talk to me during the first week of semester.
In the meantime, I strongly recommend you review the following useful advice from your professor (links are also on the sidebar to the right, under “Some Advice From Your Professor,” but I’m adding them here to help remind you to read them):
- A Word on File Formats
- Homework and Responsibility *
- On Plagiarism *
- On Making Presentations
- Emailing Your Professors
- On Grading *
- Formatting Your Written Work *
- On Unreasonable Requests for Time Off *
Some of this is common sense. However, common sense is not very common, and all of these pieces of advice were written because of things students have done or said in the past. Therefore, it’s a good idea to review them all — but the most generally important points are each highlighted with an asterisk (*).
