Want to Learn How to Make Beer? Want to Help Make Beer for the Department Cocktail Party?

I have just received permission/funding to make some beer for the Cocktail Party we will be holding later in semester. (With leftover beer being saved for the Movie Night, supposedly, and maybe an end-of-department party.)

I thought it might be a good chance for any students who want to learn how, to get a lesson in making beer. It’s really not hard, but it’s easier when someone who knows how to do it is teaching you.

We will meet and talk about what kind of beer we’ll make; meet up on a free day and make the beer; then we meet up a few weeks later and prepare it for serving (which is actually really easy!); and then we will proudly serve it at the Cocktail Party and maybe at Movie Night, and answer questions from anyone who tastes the beer and wants to ask about it.

Beer making is fun, and a rewarding hobby, but it’s also a great skill to have. Korea’s brewing scene is going to change in the next ten years or so, and I think there will be a lot of interesting and fun jobs in the field then!

But even if you’re just curious about trying it out, you’re welcome to join in and give it a try.

If you’re interested, email me. (Fill out your name and phone number in the email before you send it!)
