Elementary Composition – Night

You guys are doing a great job! I’m very impressed. I am waiting before I post individual comments, because I don’t want to make people nervous about posting. But I will make a couple of notes for you guys and the other Elementary Writing Class Blog, just some general notes of things I’ve noticed.

First, a lot of people like to use smilies. Western smilies look like or . I know some Korean smilies are different, using Hangeul letters or carets, like this: ^^ … But since we’re practicing academic writing, it’s better to avoid these things. Also, in academic writing, we wouldn’t write kkk (or, in English, Hahaha or LOL). As I said, this is okay in comments, but I know you can find other ways of expressing that feeling in English. Usually, I write something like, “That’s so funny!” or “That’s hilarious!” Try it!

Second: everyone please rememeber, we’re working on paragraphs. You should try to bring all the sentences together in paragraph blocks, like I am doing. Don’t write single lines disconnected. Put your sentences together into paragraphs!

Third: keep blogging! You’re doing a good job and I am honestly enjoying reading your posts!

 Tomorrow, The big match between Korea and Japan which is semi-final in WBC holds with the strong expectation of people of two countries. I am highly nervous and am wondering how will the result of the game be. I read the two interesting news that there would be the marrige of the famous  actor, Lim Chang Jung at the same time of the game, and the program rating of the game might be better than that of Korean games in 2002 world cup. It was really amusing like the interest towards tomorrow`s big game. I have a strong hope that Korean players will play courageously, gorgeously. Tonight, I may stay up till late because of the big tension about tomorrow`s game.

my hert fluttered that reason.

my first writing thema is my English story .

Despite my major is English, I don’t use English well.

I like English when I ’m highschool student (becuse I just like English more than Math.)

so  I say ” English is funny and easy . Ha Ha~~ ^ ^ ”

However I learn English more and more, I feel confused.

Recently  I say ” English is too hard. English is my enemy!!! ”

Do you think I love English?

I don’t know how change my  attitude toward English.

But I sure I will try and try again study English because I love my dream.

English is important for my dream.

 Hello, everyone~~ My name is Jung so young and I’m junior. Good to see you~ I specialize in English language & Culture but I can’t English composition well. So post writing is a burden for me but it will be a great help to improvement in my English ability. As they say, “There is no royal road to learning.”, to make redoubled efforts is necessary for English.

 There was an orientation of English language & Culture at Michael Building yesterday. In that place, many students and professors attended an orientation. After the O.T, a party was held with some persons who were there. Because I was absent from school for 2 years, I took part in the party to keep closer seniors and my juniors who didn’t know all the while and to have a variety talks with professors. We drank beers, talked and played games. I had a pleasant evening at the party.

 At the first opportunity, I hope that Prof.Gord and our classmates have a time to make a friend of each other.

A few days ago, I went to market. I had to buy the vegetable. I always was scold by mother because I bought bad vegetables.(I admitted.;;) But I want to buy something that is satisfacted her. So, I decided to choice goods after observeing them.

 I think this class is more comfortable really.

 Yesterday there was a party for “English language & culture ” departmant.

 But i couldnt go there cause i had another plan.  If i went to there, i could meet many people….

 Anyway, I am sophomore and 20years old. I like making friends, thinking about something, enjoying rock music and reading book.

Lately, i am planning about travle to Spain.

Yeap, I am interested about Spain and Spanish as much as english.

 In Spain at Aug. 30. 2006, ‘La tomatia’ will be held. That is tomato festival!

 I think most of you will know. wow! I am really looking forward to enjoying that!

 I wanna write many things about myself. ohh… i have to go now. cause today i will go to “Costco”  with my friend heeyoung and jiyoung.

Hello!!Everyone and Mr.Gord~ Nice to meet you. My name is ju-hyeong kim and I’m sophomore. Oh! Did you see the baseball game on Thursday? Wow~! The game was korea vs japan. Very nice game!! I was very surprised. I don’t know that korean team does baseball game very well.  I’m so proud of Korean team. I look forward to win. Fighting!!! (P.S : Yesterday, there was english language and culture orientation.)I was very impressive when Mr.Gord said. He said, “I’m lonely , I’m alone” Ha ha ha – He was very fun!!

Hi!! Everyone~ Nice to meet U. I’m Lee Jung-myung. My name seems man’s name but I’m a woman;; And I’m sophomore.

The day before yesterday, I resistered in this site. But I didn’t know how to write. So I took only a comment that day.^^; But I can write post now. So I feel good~ And now, I have one problem that can’t fix post or comment I write in this site. I’m scared about this. But I’ll be interested in this writing.

Today I attended Language & Culture Department Orientation. There are many students and professors. Of course, our professor Gord, too. That orientation was went on in English. So I couldn’t understand well, but this is obvious. From now on, graduating is not easy. And I have to take presentation in english in next year.

So I and my friends may be absent from school. And then I may have to study hard more.

Anyway, I think day by day is important. I’ll have my mind. The harder graduate criterion, I’ll be a hard student.

Yesterday,  accidentally I met gords in Nicholas hall. Because I did not know that I met gords, I was really surprised. and then, I heard something. Oh My goodness!  Gords said to me “how are you?” at that time My ear was covered by my earphone which shouted a music so loudly, so I could not realize what is said to me. I rememberd thay I may said to gords “I am sorry”. 

It is a crucial point is that my foolish behavior is not able to answer this gords’s question. whether he said to me any other question, I think thay I could answer “no………….yes……..see you” by the time gords leave to me, I stand alone on hallway absently. I did not believe that I make an effort to say to gords. It is a tragedy!!!. Did you know my situation in that time? I never want our other students to outbreak like me. As I may be thinking, In our class, I think I became a person who answered like an elemantary school student. In terms of my timid character, I actually have to study in english. After a day, I reconige my fault, which don’t have a positiveness. I determind when I am going to be meeting gords, I will say to gords “how is your today?” before his speaking.

 I recommended the video to you. The movie’s title is pirates of the Caribean.
 If you like adventures and fantasy movies, I strongly recommend this movie. This movie is high-seas adventure, and it also contains some romances. Johny Depp who acted as Edward Scissorhands is now a very attractive character in this movie, and the Legolas in the Lord of the Rings is now a pirate. This moive won’t disappoint you!

I,ve just registered. actually I registered earlier, but I had a mistake. I registered another blog. so when I would write something, I didn’t be permitted.

As I always feel, it is hard to write in English. I think it is necessary to read many books. Sure other skills are also important. I guess in this class we’ll get very useful and helpful ways to write and it  could help write somethig in Korean too!

In these day, I am so happy because Korea baseball team beat the best U.S.A team.

In the WBC(world baseball classic), Korea team had been alway wining the opposite teams.

Specially, Korea team has been considered as a minor or trivial team from around the world. But this victory represents that korea team also have excellent baseball skills.

I am pride at korea baseball team . I will eagerly cheer at korea team with a combative spirit.

 Hello, everyone!! My name is Lee Jun Haeng. You could call me Jun simply. I major in American Studies. I have a special meaning because this semester is last time of college life. Above all, getting involved in Catholic University, I could get a lot of valuable things such as valuable people , true love, or a heart of gratitude. In this meaning, I am looking forward to spending last semester happily and meaningfully. Also, the basic writing class would be a good time, in that I met a handsome professor, Gords and good classmates whom I have not been acquainted with before. I have not taken a night class since getting into my university. Like a cool wind at the spring night, I hope this class can be a precious time which can give us coolness about our writing ability.

FTA is inevitable option in the globalization. FTA will increase the export toward America and Gross Domestic Production. That will boost economy and create more employment opportunity. There are always monority groups who are against globlaization and free trade. If korea open their agriculture market , our nation will be flooded by chief foreign agricultural product. Our agricultural sector will be completely destroyed. especially Korea’s rice market will be demolished by foreign imported rice. So goverment should take measure to protect the group who is neglected by FTA. But Korea should response to change and deal with it. But world is changing so fast, and world has changed a lot. World is tend to integrated and combined locally. Globalization and integration of economic zone is majority trend of 21 century.

 In these day, I have a dream at night in which I was chased, because I am nervous. I want my bad dream to finish in my sleeping time. In fact, I am a senior student in campus. I know that I have to effort. A important thing is that I want to go abroad to achieve my purpose. I want to do all that can, but it is not easy. I firmly believe that some day I was reconized by god’s will. I think it is my purpose.

Ps.. Nice to meet everyone! I hope that we have a great time with gords I heard gords is a great teacher.

One day, I and mother watched the TV program named “palace”. My mother said, “Aw! I wish I lived the place. I want to lend there for a year”. I thought so. In fact, Seeing the drama, I was interested traditional custom such as clothes, teas, a way of talking…and so on. I loved the place that is filled them up. If I should be a rich, I’ll build the house like the palace.

Hi, everyone! I’m nervous because I don’t know what to write. It’s fist time visting this blog and writing post, besides, only one student wrote post, so it’s a little bit difficult to me. Howerver, I believe that I’ll overcome this terrible feeling soon. I’ll practice trying to improve my writing with good issue. It is certain that practice makes me stong. For this reason, this blog is very useful and helpful. Therefor, I think this blog activity is a big chance.
