Elementary Composition – Day

It’s hard to say who the most important person is in korea.

  Because different kinds of people would have had good influences on different parts in our country. But, when asked to choose one, I would go for the president, Park Jung Hee. The president could have more effects on our country than any other person. The president, Park Jung Hee ruled korea using military force in the 1960′s. Koreans have different points of views on him and his work. Some say, he was a dictator, and others say, he was a strategist with tremendious charisma like Jo Jo in Sam Guk Ji. But, President Park may be the best president in respect of economic growth in korea. After the korean war, thousands of korean people were suffering from hunger and poverty for a long period of time. To revibe the economy, he built Gyung Bu expressway, investing astronomical money in construction. Thanks to the express highway, the economy got better and better, and private enterprises so called major companies in korean like Hyun Dai or Dae woo could develop very rapidly. The series of events could be based on the developing industries in korea.

  Now, we all couldn’t dream of enjoying the wealth in korea without him and, he is one of the most important people in korea’s modern history, inspite of strong criticism on him.

It sounds great to improve men or women for their leadership in their societies.

  It’s certain that many rights groups would have been a big help to stand up for people’s rights, especially women. There are several kinds of women’s rights groups not only in korea, but also in most other countries, such as NOW, Women for women, AWID and so on. These groups usually urge government to make laws against incent assalt, child abuse or domestic violence, and campaign for their equal rights. Compared to this, rights groups for men have hardly ever been founded until now. The reason that the nunber of women’s rights groups is more than men’s ones is women had not been treated in the same way as men’s. It means, a lot of men have considered women their assessaries or maids.
  Of course, I agree with the women’s movement, but I prefer not to be categorized as a feminist. Because, some people who belong to the groups seem to misunderstand what real women’s rights are. Most parts of their opinions would be more related to comparison between women and men than difficulties they are solving. They usually say, “While man can do anything they want, why cannot women?” But, I think, it doesn’t matter who can or cannot, and such an argument means nothing. Every problem should be about people, not women or men only. And, they should fight not with men, but bad laws and customs they have been surrounded by.
  Now, all choices, reponsibilities, and possibilities are up to you. If you want to get better for your leadership, you should try as much as you could. 

Sometimes I forget why I’m doing what I’m doing. I’m not just thinking about a memory problem. At one point there is a reason we do something. For long-term projects, we need to remind ourselves of that reason. It’s always good to ask ourselves, “Why?” If we get lost in the doing, in the living, in the every day being, then we can lose sight of the  “Why.” I think we need daily reminders of “Why,” or else it’s tough to finish what we started. I think it can be very healty and help you appreciate what you have and what you’re doing.

     When I was young, I was quite a warm and kind kid. I was just sweet just like any other girls of that age. Everything was so hopeful, promising, and beautiful. But as I am getting older, I feel that I am being very picky, irratable with everything. It’s just not right. People are supposed to be more generous and patient as they get older. But look at me! I am just harsh on everyone around me and always angry at something. Even my best friend pointed it out that what I most frequently say is “Oh, I hate this, and I hate that.”   I don’t know what’s wrong with me but I am just like it. I wish I can get it right.

A friend of mine is getting married this weekend. She is not exactly my friend because she is 7 years older than me. I met her and her fiance last year in Calgary. I had lived with them for about 2 months. When they were dating, nobody expected them to be a husband and wife because they were so different. It has been only a year since they knew each other, but they seem to be very happy about their decision. After the wedding day, they are going to live in a small town which is close to Edmonton for more than three years since he got a job there. It would be sad because I can’t see them oftenly, but I am really happy for them anyway. Congratulations on their wedding and I hope they live happily ever after.

I like romantic movie , especially romantic movies . Those make people (especially women)happy . Sometimes. those give us joy and dream . Most of women have dream about their spouse and marrige.  They get satisfaction thorugh that .Movie music also gives us happy and joy . I always use it when I am gotten stress . When I walk the street ,or campus , If I  hear the movie music , I would be happy. Whenever I did , I deluded myselfe as a actress of that movie . How about you ?

March 30th was my friend Tae-ho and my youngest sister’s birthday. I mat Tae-ho last semester. At that time I was taking CAP2 class with Se-lin who is my one of the best friend. At that class I met Tae-ho and Keun-tack who is not same major with us. Tae-ho, Se-lin, Keun-tack and me had a lot of chances to meet each other not only in the class but also at the O.B.F. They visit O.B.F. often, and they were friend with Ga-young who is my friend and one of the masters of O.B.F. So, they and I become close very quickly. Even though the semester finished, we keep in touch and sometimes we met and went to picnic. Now we are really close friends.

             I’ve been known that March 30th was Tae-ho’s birthday. Keun-tack, Ga-young, Se-lin and me start to make a plan for Tae-ho’s surprise birthday party. Actually Keun-tack Is really good at making a plan for the events. He decided to copy Tae-ho’s room key and having a party in there without announce. The day before Tae-ho’s birthday, we went to department store to buy his present and some food and fruits to eat at the party. And at the day, we sent a text massage to Tae-ho to make a appointment for the fake birthday party. We told him to meet at some restaurant. After prepare all the party, Se-lin and I sent a text massage again that we can’t go to your party because of some reasons. He seems to really disappoint but we were really excited. Keun-tack asked him to go to his home and get his stuff before he come to the place that we told him to meet for the birthday party. After he came to home, he trying to find Keun-tack;s stuff but he couldn’t find, and he tried to turn on the light. He couldn’t turn on also, however, because we made the light not to turn on. He starts to embarrassed and he notice something was changed in his room and we are doing something. At that time four of us was hiding in the restroom and prepare a cake and trying to turn the candle on. While trying to turn the candle on, Tae-ho suddenly opens the door of the restroom and he found us! We sang a birthday song and celebrate. He said very thanks and we were satisfied for our surprising party.

             It was my first experience to having a surprise party and I was really happy because the party was successful. I hope I could have a surprise party again. To see a friend’s happy face is really pleasure to me.

 There are many ways Korean eat rice. First, Korean eat rice-gruel which is a hot cereal. They eat it when they are sick usually because this digests well. There are many kinds of rice gruels which are made from rice and red bean, or an ear shell, or chicken, etc. In addition to rice gruels, they eat boiled rice. They can eat with side dishes and a pot stew, or they can eat fried rice which is made of rice and Kimchi, or vegetables and meat, etc. Further, after eating boiled rice, they can eat scorched rice from the bottom of the pot for their dessert. Finally, Korean eat rice cakes. There are many kinds of rice cakes and eating ways. They can make rice cakes with mugwort, or bean, or honey, etc. As well, they can toast, or boil, or fry it. In Korea, ways to eat rice are well-developed.

 Korean people eat rice because of several reasons. First, Korean climate and soil are suitable to do rice farming, and they aren’t suitable to do wheat farming. In addition, since B.C. 2000, rice came from China. In Korea, it have been a main food for 1000 years. In this reason, it is too hard for Korean to change their main food. Finally, nowdays many Korean think that rice is good for their health because they think plant which grows in their land has good effects on them. In these reasons, until now, rice is a main food in Korea.

 no one really knows where rice came from. some scientists think that it started to grow in two plases.they think that one kind of rice grew in southern asia thousand of years ago.someone in china wrote about it almost 5,000 years ago. another kind probably grew in west africa. other scientists think that rice came from india,and indian travelers took it to other part of the world.

 when i was a child. i often visited my grandparent’s home. Actually i felt nausea in car so i always worried about went to grandparent’s home. but when i arrived home i used to impressing the my grandparent’s farm viewing. very wide and beatiful yellow line was so attractive viewing. when my family went back to home grandmother gave some vegetable and fruit and rice to my family. expecially rice was so many quantity.  i must never forget the taste of my grandparent’s rice.

There are many kinds of food using rice. For example, there are many kinds of boiled rice with other grains such as brown rice, bean, glutinous rice, and so on. If you really think about it, it’s just come under boiled rice. Think about hot cereal. It contains various materials. You need only to put materials in it and cook hot cereal. The materials can be sesame, pumpkin, red-bean, shrimp, and all others people can eat. There is a stir-fried rice.

All this is good to your health and very delicious! We must realize that rice is a boastful food in Korea.

Korean main food is rice. But thesedays, demand for rices shrunk drastically. Because Korean menu is changed and there are some substitute food for rice.

   First, people eat instant food instead of rice. Thesedays many Korean women have their job, so they are really busy not only in their office but also at home. Before they concentrated on houseworks. But after they have jobs, they can’t work well at home. So they buy instant food a lot. Because it’s so convinient.

   Second, people like Western food instead of rice. Especially children like western food, such as pizza, hambuger, spaghetti. They have strong spices, smell, and so sweet. So children like Western food instead of Korean food.

These days, most people live busily. They don’t have time to spare. They don’t have time to eat usual meal. They don’t have breakfast that fundamental elements of life;Korean is rice.

The moderners of Korea already forgot their stable food. They eat bread for breakfast. Their body has been changing like western people. Also, their mind has been changing too. People says, diversity of culture is very important thing to globalization. But, Korean don’t be come under it. They must take to heart that they can’t live without rice. The most miserable thing is that problem is not belong to Korea. It is problem of entire Asia.

Have you ever lied? People lie for many reasons, and most of them don’t even feel guilty anymore. Dishonesty, more than anything else, prevents poeple from being persons they can and want to be. The biggest problem of dishonest is people can’t control themselves on the certain lever and it eventually distorys them. Here are some reasons why people should be honesty.

Dishonesty is a vicious circle. One dishonest act leads to another. If it continues to happen, dishonesty becomes almost a way of life. In other words, it forms the worst habit in the world. Next, Dishonest can’t be hidden. Many movies or books can explain it. One of the characters in stories who maybe is cast as the villain lies and gets what she/he wants at the beginning of the story, but he ruins himself because it is revealed in the end. There is no perfect lies or secrets in any circumstance. Dishonesty also ruins relationships. You should not lie unless it is necessary like a white lie. Without trust, good realtionships are impossible.

Telling a lie seems to be trivial ,but it could cause serious matter. Therefore, you should try to be honest,and then you can expect people to tell the truth.

The Rice cake is Koreans treditional food. Rice cake is made of rice that are Korean’s mais food. There are many kinds of Rice cake. They eat Songpeon at Chooseok that is national holiday. And they eat rice cake soup at New years day. Rice cake treated bigoted thing. But nowadays many people develop rice cake. So rice cake is more beautiful and havig more varity teasts.

The rice is very important for Korean. Because rice is Korean’s main dish. Therefore Koreans eat mant kindew of rice.

Koreans usuasally eat white rice. Especially the white rice of Korea is more smaller, tenacious, glossy than western rice. Western people often can’t digest this. So they often have stomacheache. But Korean likes tenacious polished rice.

Korean also eats black rice. But they  don’t eat black rice only. Black rice is cooked with other crops such like polished  rice, beans. The black rice has black color. When we chew this, we feel that something is poping in our mouth.

Finally I want to talk about uncleared rice. Uncleared rice is the rice that are not perfect shape. The  uncleared rice has humble surface. Because there are afew shells. Some people dosen’t like that. But uncleared rice has high nutrition. So many koreans likes this.

Today, Many people eating hamberger, wearing jean and living an asphalt pavement in Korea. Any more, Korea society is not awkward that compare with Western society. And many childrens and adults have West food. Eating bread, pizza, butter and so on. However, We remember that our main food don’t change though we resemble Western society. Our most main food is rice. Most Korean say like to me. Also, We need attention that most west people pay attention to rice. When we enjoy them main food, they attention our food! Why? Because, they already know important of rice. So, now they have interest in rice. It’s not say that as they pay attention to rice, we need to pay attention to rice like them. Rice have many advantage that much, we need to take notice of rice’s important.

We have eaten rice long time. So, we didn’t probably attention to rice like other country people. But now, world concentrate rice’s benefit. The general trend is rice. According to general trend, we have need to more notice of rice.

  Rice is actually crop that grow hot and much rainy place such a East-South Asia, and about Half of World People eat as the staple food. Much water and Warm Local,The Torrid zone local can harvest 2times But In korea can harvest only 1time Korea,Japan,spain,USA,Austrailia and The temperate Local,The Torrid zone local  are well grown to rice harvest

These days, many children prefer fast food to rice. But fast food isn’t really good for their health. So, their moms want that their kids eat rice instead of fast food. But, it’s not easy to change their children’s taste which is tamed fast food. How can we change their taste? Well, I want to recommend pizza and cake which made of rice. It’s really good food to fascinate children. Because children can think it’s fast food and it’s very colorful.

Most Korean have eaten rice for them meal. But lately, rice intake have decreased since Western Style come to our country. So, Many people don’t know variety rice food. Let’s know many ways rice food and make rice food many times. And then, as you know, get many advantage to rice, for our body.

 May be, you know, rice is one of the most diet food. And then, Do you know that cabbage effect for diet? Here, two diet food met. Let’s introduce roll cabbage rice. First, you boil cabbage. Second, beef mince and roast with spices. Third, open boiled cabbage and spread boiled rice and put roast beef on center. And then, roll cabbage and cut up thickness of 1cm. How simple it is! And this food effect your diet!

Like this, rice food have many many ways. Look for variety rice food. And then, You may eat new food every day. Why don’t you making rice food moreover getting many nutrition? Try it!

Korean people’s staple food is rice. All of Korean people eat rice. But, Many children prefer fast food to rice lately. So, Rice is neglected. But, rice was expensive food and money in the past. Rice was inestimable food until the 5th century. The nobility could eat rice whenever they want, but the common people ate millet and barley. At that time, rice was rarely cultivated. And rice was also used money as increasing output of rice. When people buy something, they paid rice. And, finally, rice became common food in Chosun Dynasty.

It has been about a week that I signed up for toefl course. Thanks to this course, my five days of weekdays always end up 10 pm which makes me tired and not concentrate on my shool life. At first I though that I could juggle well beteen to matters ,but it was my misprediction. I somewhat screwed last week because I didn’t fully antispate both of them. I didn’t complete my assinments from acdemy and school as well.

I need to do somthing to make my time efficiently. Making it happen,I need more careabout my time schedule. Looking back om what I was doing last week. I was wasting time onto doing for nothing. I am such a loser again! Definately, I have buy a time schelduler and keep everything down about dos and don’t list and do it ,just do it.

Cheer up! There is a paramount which I have to cimb up for about two month! It is nothing compare to my entire life. It is difficult to go up with my annoying but somewhat lovely friend who is English. However, I am not going to be defeated by it. The day when I just on  the top of mountain, I will clap myself.

   Koreans often have a dinner with eating rice. We can’t imagine dinner time without rice. From now on, we have changed lifestyle a lot. After Western culture came in, Pizza, steak,  spagetti and so on are  put on the our table. So many children prefered to these better. that is ,overweight is seriously caused by them. our taste is proper meal with eating rice. we have used this a different way including boiling, making rum, cookie. It is also maindish in  some ceremony and anniversary. Anyway, It can be enough nutrition a day. we just keep in mind ,that is having a meal  with various sidedishes. Because, only eating rice is very dangerous to  induce many disease. But we will be dependent on rice in dinner . 

  

Recently. consumtion of rice has been decresing. There could be many reasons brought this reselt, but one thing is that there is no improvement on rice. While bread have considerable kinds of chice and favor, the food which is made by rice can be counted in ine hand. The people who are working on agricultaral side and also cusine side should do some act over bread which is made of wheat.

Above all. they need to develope many dishes from rice. This time is completly different from 60s and 70s when people just wanted to eat rice to be full. They did not much care on the taste of rice. They were just happy to eat rice. However, thesedays, people changed. They want to eat more speacail and healthy  food. Therefore, the people who anticipating in business of food and cultivation. They have to follow the flow of fashion and concept of what most people want to ear with rice. So I want them to be more conpetitive for at least .  keeping  up with the Jhones.

Moreover, we need to think that rice is our staple food, so we need to preserve and make it better in flavor and quality as well. At this case, farmers should be more wise and keep their eyes wide open to make the condition of rice better. people are more getting into their health problem. So pageants need to try and ally with high thechnology to improve the rice. It has been proved that eating rice is much better than bread in diet. In this respect, the people who are related with rice should be aggresive and cutting -edged.

In conclusion, rice is imprtant in our life as Korean, so we need to love more it. Therefore, rice should change its out dated fashion and it should approach and capture Korean’s mind again as fully versatile and likable figure.

 

 

 

Every the end of the month, I worry about the cellular phone charge. Usually on the charge paper, more much amount of money is written than I have expected. I don’t understand well why the cellular phone charge is too expensive.

 Thesedays people use some kinds of communication means like internet (messenger or blog) or telephone. But only the charge of cellular phone is high. Wireless internet is mobile commucation mean,too. But its rate is not too expensive as cellular phone rate.

 SK telecom, LG telecom and KTF have to make reserchs of the ways to reduce the charge. Only offering many card services (mobile carrier card) is not the way for customer satisfaction.

 

     Since I am a junior this year, I have a lot more things to do. Tons of assignments are just killing me. The fact that I like my major and all the things about English and literature is one thing, and those bunch of assignments and homework is the other. I am spending all my weekend in the library doing my homework. I really really want to go out and have some fun with my friends, watch movies and go shopping. But those fun time is just too far beyond my life now. How sad. I just want to be a freshman again.

 Have you ever thought that how many kinds of rices in the world? At least once, you might have eaten strange rice which is different from rice that you usually have eaten.  There are various kinds of rice more than you’d thought about it. Although kinds of rice are enormous, they can be simply divided two types. one is called Japanese type. It is cultivated in Korea, north China, Espagnol, California. And the other is called India type. It is cultivated in India, south China, south America. India rice is Longer and less glutinous than Japanese rice. Because, rice can be cultivated largely two ways, India’s way is cultivating rice in fields. that called upland rice. But Japanese rice is paddy rice. The reason why rice is cultivated different way is different environment of their country.

 

What do you do in your free time? Using internet? Sleeping? Listening to music? Playing games? The number of people reading books is decreasing, including me. As a result, intelliegence level get lower. Whenever I watch a TV program ‘Sangsang plus’ in korean, I think that. Young children don’t know many words that they should know on their age. I remember that I saw the words in some books children don’t know. People should read a book. We can get information through the internet ,but it is not high quality and qualified. In addtion, we forget easily what we get easily. The information is in everywhere but not in our head. We should engrave information on our brain. That is the most valuable.
